ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Oskar and his father are sitting in Oskar's room before bedtime.  Oskar's father, Thomas, has told him of a place called the Sixth Borough that he says used to be in New York City.  He has commissioned Oskar with the task of discovering the missing Sixth Borough.  Oskar, looking skeptically up at his father: "Was there really a Sixth Borough?"  Thomas: "Well, as with anything, if you want to believe, you can find reasons to."  Oskar: "What reasons?"  Thomas tells Oskar to investigate the evidence...the fossil record, the characteristics of the natural surroundings, and historical facts from newspapers.

Oskar has embarked upon a quest to discover the meaning of a key left by his dead father.  Oskar, climbing a rock to look out over the city: "I didn't know what was waiting for me.  Although my stomach hurt, and my eyes were watering, I made up my mind that nothing - - nothing was going to stop me.  Not even me."  Slightly autistic, Oskar has always lived with fear of everyday things.  But his father's tragic and violent death only accentuated those fears.  As Oskar begins his quest, he describes some of the fears that face him at every corner:  public transportation, tall buildings, loud noises, elevators, bridges, airplanes...all things abundant in Oskar's home city of New York.  Oskar rushes by these things on his journey, looking at them fearfully and avoiding them when he can, but still determined to complete his quest despite them.

Oskar, still suffering from the loss of his father, has locked himself inside the bathroom.  His mother, Linda, is knocking on the door, asking him to let her in.  Oskar covers his ears so he can't hear her.  His mother continues asking for admittance.  Finally, Oskar approaches the door: "Why do you wanna come in?"  Linda: "To tell you that I love you."

Linda has rushed home on the morning of September 11th, 2001, desperate to know the whereabouts of her missing husband.  She arrives home to find her son hiding under his bed, silent with fear and worry for his father.  She asks Oskar if he has heard anything from his father.  Oskar shakes his head.  Linda goes to the phone and dials 9-1-1.  Shaking and crying, she dials again and again, but keeps receiving busy signals.  Desperate for help, she pleads aloud as she dials again: "Please, please..."  She receives another busy signal.  Not knowing where else to turn, she tries again, this time from her cell phone.  The other line rings and then answers.  A message plays: "Sorry, due to heavy calling, we cannot complete your call at this time."

Oskar has designed an intricate plan to try to discover the lock meant for a key that was left behind by his dead father.  His plan requires interviewing hundreds of people around the city, and Oskar's meticulous scheduling allows him only minutes with each individual.  But Oskar discovered that human interaction can't be rushed.  Oskar, reflecting on his search: "But it wasn't working.  Because people aren't like numbers.  They're more like letters.  And those letters want to become stories.  And Dad said that stories need to be shared."  Oskar's interviews lead him to people of all ages and walks of life.  A middle-aged Asian woman cries as Oskar helps her in her kitchen.  A family gives Oskar a horseback ride.  A girl kisses Oskar on the cheek, pitying him for the loss of his father.  Oskar sits on his bed, surrounded by dozens of photos of the people he has interviewed.  Oskar: "I had anticipated a six minute visit with each person named Black.  But they were never just six minutes."

Linda is awakened suddenly by her son, Oskar.  Linda, sleepy and surprised: "Oskar, what's wrong?"  Oskar, intently: "Do you promise not to bury me when I die?"  Linda tries to get Oskar to return to bed, but Oskar is adamant - - he wants to secure his mother's promise that she'll bury him above ground when he dies.  Oskar, yelling: "What if I die tomorrow?"  Linda: "You're not going to die tomorrow."  Oskar: "Dad didn't think he was going to die tomorrow either."  (Oskar's father was killed in the World Trade Center tragedy.)

Oskar's mother, Linda, is trying to calm him as he grows more and more hysterical.  (Oskar's father was killed in the World Trade Center bombing and Oskar is struggling with thoughts of death and mortality.)  Oskar, wrenching himself from his mother's arms: "It has to make sense!"  Linda: "Not everything makes sense, Oskar.  There's not an answer for everything!"  Oskar continues ranting as he throws things off the kitchen counter.  He is furious with his mother for burying an empty coffin (they never recovered his father's body) because he insists that it's illogical and everything must make sense.  Oskar covers his ears as Linda tries to get through to him: "He's gone and he's not coming back.  Never.  I don't know why a man flew a plane into a building.  I don't know why my husband is dead.  But, no matter how you try, Oskar, it's never gonna make sense because it doesn't.  It doesn't make sense!"

Linda's cell phone rings on the morning of September 11th.  Her husband, Thomas, is calling to tell her that he's inside the World Trade Center.  Linda, who has been watching the story unfolding on the news, is stunned.  She begs him to come home immediately.  Thomas tells her that they've been told to stay where they are and wait for help.  Linda walks to the window and stares out at the skyline.  Both buildings of the Trade Center are smoking.  Thomas tells Linda he loves her and then hangs up to let someone else use the phone.  Linda remains staring out the window.

Oskar has been grieving over his father's death for more than a year.  In a struggle to find answers and bring meaning to his pain, Oskar has interviewed dozens of people all over the city.  His conversations have led him to more stories of pain and suffering that have only added to his confusion.  Feeling ready to burst, he decides to tell his grandmother's renter his struggles.  In a somewhat piecemeal and incoherent way, Oskar tells of his father's death, his quest for a lock to fit a key, and the people he has met along the way.  Slightly hysterical, he tells the man that he needs to complete this quest to find a way to make sense of his father's death and the sufferings of those he has met.  Oskar, talking about one of these people: "If she spoke to God, how come she didn't tell Him not to kill her son, not to let people fly planes into buildings?"  Oskar quickly relates some of the tales of pain he ran across in his interviews.  Tales of sickness and death, sorrow and deprivation.  Oskar tells of the almost paralyzing fear he experiences every time he leaves the house.  But he feels compelled to keep searching, even though he hasn't learned anything he feels is helpful.  Oskar, doubled-over with pain: "It hurts too much.  Sometimes I think I might do something really bad."  Oskar shows the man his stomach, which is covered with self-inflicted wounds.

Oskar and his grandfather are on a mission that requires them to search all around New York City.  Oskar, prepared to walk the whole way, balks when his grandfather heads toward the subway.  (Oskar, slightly autistic, fears all methods of public transportation.)  His grandfather insists and descends the stairs alone, waiting for Oskar to follow.  Oskar, now wearing a large gas mask, walks down the subway stairs.  He finds a note at the bottom, left by his grandfather.  The note reads: "Sometimes we have to face our fears."  Oskar joins his grandfather on the train.  Only his eyes are visible through the mask as he looks around fearfully at his surroundings.  His grandfather distracts him with a mental game and soon Oskar is sitting calmly, the mask abandoned.

Oskar asks Mr. Black if he can tell him something he's never told anyone else.  Mr. Black, a relative stranger, is surprised, but agrees to listen.  Oskar then releases a burden he's carried for more than a year.  On the morning of September 11th, Oskar's father was trapped inside the World Trade Center.  Oskar came home and listened to the messages he had left on the phone.  But, when the phone rang beside him, Oskar found himself paralyzed by fear.  The answering machine registered his father's voice, asking: "Are you there?"  Oskar wanted to answer, but couldn't.  Oskar, tears in his eyes: "He needed me and I couldn't pick it up.  I was scared.  I just couldn't do it.  He asked nine times.  I know because I've counted."  Oskar remembers when the line went dead.  He turned to look at the television and watched in horror as the building fell to the ground.  Oskar fell to the ground, in tears, knowing he missed his chance to say goodbye.  Oskar turns to Mr. Black: "Do you forgive me?"  Mr. Black: "Forgive you?  For what?  For not being able to pick up?"  Oskar shakes his head: "For not being able to tell anyone."  Mr. Black, moved, lays his hand on Oskar's head: "Of course I forgive you."  Oskar: "I can't tell you how much better that makes me feel."

Linda finds her son, Oskar, destroying the project he's worked on for months.  (He searched all over New York City to find the lock for a key his deceased father left behind.  When he found the lock and learned it wasn't a message for him, he broke down in despair.)  Linda calms her hysterical son, telling him she knows how hard he worked to find the lock.  Oskar: "You don't know."  Linda: "I do."  Oskar, his heart breaking: "But you really don't know, Mom."  Linda: "Sweetie, do you think I would ever let you out of my sight?  Do you think I would let anything happen to you?  I always knew where you were.  Always."  Oskar, who thought he took his journey by himself, stops crying: "You did?"  Linda tells Oskar how she knew something was going on, so she searched his room and discovered his project.  Oskar: "You were snooping on me?"  Linda: "I was searching for you."  Putting herself in her son's shoes, she was able to figure out his intentions.  She travelled his journey ahead of him, interviewing people before Oskar did and making sure the way was paved smoothly ahead of him.
