ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Hazel is reluctantly seated in her doctor's office, listening to her mother tell her doctor that she knows Hazel is depressed.  The teen vehemently denies the depression, but in her heart, she knows she is struggling.  Hazel, thinking: "The booklets and the websites always list depression as a side effect of cancer.  Depression's not a side effect of cancer.  It's a side effect of dying.  Which is what was happening to me."  Sitting in the mall with her mother, her oxygen tank by her side, young Hazel wistfully watches three girls her age talking and laughing and shopping together.  Later, she sits alone in a bookstore, reading a book, when she sees a young couple obviously in love.  She smiles sadly at them before turning back to read a line from her book: "Pain demands to be felt."

Hazel's doctor is recommending that the sick teen attend a cancer support group held at a local church to help her along her "journey."  Hazel is mildly disgusted at the thought, but reluctantly attends.  Later, Hazel sits in group, listening as the leader, Patrick, plays a sugary song on his guitar.  An enormous, gaudy rug depicting Jesus is on the ground at Patrick's feet.  Hazel bites her lip to keep from laughing when Patrick kneels on Jesus's chest, announcing with a sappy grin: "We are gathered here today, literally, in the heart of Jesus!  We're here with J. C.  Who wants to share their story with the group?"  Hazel listens as teen after teen stands to talk about their own struggle with cancer, which is the only time the group seems authentic.  Patrick then shares his own story, which Hazel listens to with mild disgust.  (Patrick is divorced, homeless, and lives with his parents, where he plays video games all day.)  Hazel, thinking to herself: "Patrick exploits his cancer-tastic past in the heart of Jesus, literally, to show us that, one day, if we're lucky, we could be just like him."  Finally, Hazel is called on to share.  She stands, briefly telling the group of the aggressive cancer spreading throughout her body.  Patrick, lamely: "And, and, and...how are you doing?"  Hazel bites back the sarcastic remark that immediately comes to mind from Patrick's inane question: "All right, I guess."  Patrick, brightly: "We're here for you, Hazel."  He picks up his guitar: "Why don't I play another song!"  He begins strumming another sickly-sweet tune, singing: ♪ "Christ is our friend, and He'll be there 'til the end..." ♪  Hazel counts the minutes until she can leave, thoroughly revolted by Patrick's superficial sugar-coating of reality.  (Caution: crude description of testicular cancer)

Gus tells his story to the cancer support group, showing them his bionic leg.  Patrick: "Maybe you'd like to share your fears with the group?"  Gus, looking at Hazel: "Oblivion."  Patrick, confused: "Oblivion?"  Gus, confidently: "Yeah.  You see, I intend to live an extraordinary life.  To be remembered.  So, I'd say if I had any fears, it would be to not do that."  Hazel stands up to respond to Gus's remarks: "I just wanna say that there's gonna come a time when all of us are dead.  There was a time before humans, and there's gonna be a time after.  It could be tomorrow, it could be a million years from now.  And when it does, there will be no one left to remember Cleopatra, or Muhammad Ali, or Mozart, let alone any of us."  Hazel shrugs wryly at Gus: "Oblivion's inevitable.  And, if that scares you, then I suggest you ignore it.  God knows, it's what everyone else does."

After flirting with Hazel for a few minutes, Gus asks the girl out on a date.  Flattered and interested, Hazel smiles.  Her smile fades, however, when Gus pulls out a pack of cigarettes and puts one in his mouth.  Hazel, angry and disgusted: "Really?  That is disgusting!  What, do you think that that's cool, or something?  You just ruined this whole thing!  Even though you had freaking cancer, you're willing to give money to a corporation for the chance to acquire even more cancer!"  Gus appears amused.  "Hazel Grace, they don't actually hurt you unless you light them.  I've never lit one."  Hazel looks confused.  Gus, a cancer survivor himself: "It's a metaphor, see?  You put the thing that does the killing right between your teeth...but you never give it the power to kill you."

Hazel has had an interesting first date with Gus and is looking forward to their next meeting.  Hazel's mom sees her check her phone and correctly interprets the meaning of her visible disappointment.  Hazel pretends nonchalance: "It's not a big deal.  We just hung out.  It's not like I'm waiting for him to call me."  For the next several days, Hazel regularly checks her phone, disappointed each time she sees no message.  Her phone is constantly at her side...while brushing her teeth, while watching TV, while eating, and while resting.  Hazel is fearful of missing the moment when Gus finally does decide to call.

Hazel and Gus are eating in a beautiful restaurant, discussing life's great mysteries.  Gus asks Hazel if she believes in God.  Hazel: "Maybe."  Gus: "How 'bout angels?"  Hazel: "Mmm...no."  Gus: "Afterlife?"  Hazel: "Well, maybe.  I don't know.  I guess I wouldn't go as far as to say no, but...I would like some evidence.  What about you?"  Gus, confidently: "Absolutely."  Hazel looks surprised.  Gus: "I mean, not like a heaven where you ride on a unicorn all day and live in a mansion made of clouds, but...yes.  I definitely believe in something.  I mean, otherwise...what's the point?"  Hazel, ever the cynic: "Maybe there is no point?"  Gus, smiling: "I won't accept that."

Gus and Hazel sit on a bench, watching the river.  Taking Hazel's hand, Gus tells her that he had a recent PET scan which revealed that his cancer has returned.  When he reveals that it has spread all over his body, Hazel closes her eyes, knowing he doesn't have long to live.  A tear runs down her cheek.  She leans her head on Gus's shoulder, crying: "It's so unfair."  Gus, close to tears himself: "Apparently the world is not a wish-granting factory."

Gus and Hazel are having a picnic at a park.  Hazel questions Gus, who appears sullen and brooding.  Gus tells her what is on his mind: "Oblivion.  I know it's kid's stuff or whatever, but...I  always thought I would be a hero.  I always thought I'd have a grand story to tell, something they'd publish in all the papers.  I mean, I was supposed to be special."  Hazel, angrily: "You are special, Augustus.  You know this obsession you have with being remembered?  I'm mad because I think you're special!  Is that not enough?  You think the only way to lead a meaningful life is for everyone to remember you.  For everyone to love you.  Guess what, Gus?  This is your life!  This is all you get.  You get me and you get your family and you get this world and that's it.  And, if that's not enough for you, then I'm sorry, but it's not nothing.  Because I love you.  I'm gonna remember you."

Gus has asked his two best friends to read him their eulogies so he can feel like he's attending his own funeral.  Knowing he doesn't have many days left, the boy has brought them to the church where his service will be held.  Gus sits in his wheelchair, listening as Hazel reads what she has prepared.  He smiles through his tears as she tells the invisible audience that theirs was an epic love story.  Recalling something a mutually-loved author once told them, Hazel states that there are infinite numbers between zero and one.  Hazel: "I want more numbers than I'm likely to get.  And, God, do I want more days for Augustus Waters than what he got.  But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity.  You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and for that I am eternally grateful.  I love you so much."

Hazel is awakened by the ringing of the phone.  She knows even before her parents come into the room that Augustus has died.  When they turn on the light, she is already crying.  They put their arms around her and she weeps.  Hazel, reflecting back on the time: "It was unbearable.  The whole thing.  Every second worse than the last."  Later, Hazel is preparing for Gus's funeral, still lost in her fog of grief.  Hazel, reflecting: "One of the first things they ask you in the ER is to rate your pain on a scale from one to ten.  I remember once when I couldn't catch my breath and it felt like my chest was on fire, the nurse asked me to rate the pain.  Though I couldn't speak, I held up nine fingers.  Later, when I started feeling better, the nurse came in and she called me a fighter.  'You know how I know?' she said.  'You called a ten a nine.'  That wasn't the truth.  I didn't call it a nine because I was brave.  The reason I called it a nine was because I was saving my ten.  And this was it.  This was the great and terrible ten."  Hazel sits at Gus's funeral, staring at his coffin.
