ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Felix has come to a church to arrange himself a funeral.  When he tries to determine what the pastor would say about him in the eulogy, the pastor takes him in a different direction.  Pastor: "What matters is that when you come to the end of your life, that you're ready for the next one.  Now, have you made peace with God, sir?"  Felix, a crusty old hermit who has lived alone in the woods for the past forty years, believes that he paid for his sins in the lonely life he chose for himself: "I paid."  Pastor: "Well, Mr. Bush, you can't buy forgiveness.  It's free, but you do have to ask for it."  Angry, Felix walks out of the church without another word.

Buddy has just arrived at work to find his boss, Frank, reading the newspaper, his feet propped up on his desk.  Frank, the owner of the local funeral parlor, addresses his one employee: "You read the paper today?  People are dying in bunches.  Everywhere but here.  What are the odds of a funeral home going broke when you have a business that everybody on Earth needs?  If you can't make that work, it's gotta be you, right?  And yet...I don't know.  What do you do when people won't die?  One thing about Chicago, people know how to die.  They drown, get run over, shot, whatever it takes."  Buddy, defending his home town: "Well, we get it done around here.  It's just we're not in a hurry about it."

Buddy and his boss, Frank, the funeral director, are driving to Mr. Bush's cabin in the woods to sell him a funeral service.  Bush, a renowned (and feared) hermit, has a reputation for meanness and has been known to shoot at trespassers on his property.  Frank parks the car several hundred yards away from the house and sits in silence.  Buddy: "What are you doing?"  Frank, thinking quickly, turns to Buddy: "You've been wanting a shot at sales.  As of right now, you're on commission.  Remember, foot in the door, establish trust, and drop the hammer."  Buddy, looking at the lonely cabin: "I'd rather you go too."  Frank: "No doubt.  But if you don't do this by yourself, you'll never know if you're any good.  And you'll never be good if you don't know that you are."  Buddy gets out of the car.  He looks back at Frank.  Frank smiles, nodding his encouragement.  Buddy begins the long walk up the dirt road to the cabin.  (Caution: short glimpse of "No Trespassing" sign with "d--n" written on it)

Buddy is meeting with Mr. Bush, hoping to sell him a funeral service package.  Mr. Bush, however, is more interested in discovering the gossip that's going around about him in town.  Buddy is reluctant to tell him just what people are saying: "There's two sides to every story."  Mr. Bush: "People say that, but they don't believe it, no, sir.  They think what they think and they don't want to know anything else."  Buddy: "I also think that people are so scared about what they don't know that they make things up to feel better about it."  Mr. Bush: "Like life after dying.  Heaven."  Buddy: "Well, I hope that part's true, don't you?  I don't think we know the actual truth about anything.  I know I don't.  I'm just guessing most of the time."  (Caution: "b---h" used once as profanity)

Felix is meeting with Frank and Buddy, the men who run the town funeral parlor.  He is arranging a funeral "party" for himself and has just announced to the two men that he wants to be there.  Buddy stares at Frank in shock: "You want to be at your funeral...party...alive?"  Buddy tries to tell him he needs to be deceased to have a funeral, but Frank, a born salesman, cuts him off: "Hold on, now.  It's a detail.  We can look at it."  He tells Felix that they can do it.  However, when he asks Felix who he wants invited, he begins to think that the idea might be impossible after all.  Felix: "I want everybody to come who's got a story to tell about me."  Buddy, under his breath: "Probably covers about four counties."  (Felix is a notorious hermit and gossip about him is rampant.)  Frank, knowing the stories to be bad, fears that no one will want to come and risk getting shot by Felix.  Felix angrily begins to leave, but Frank assures him that they can work something out.

Mattie and Felix are reconnecting after a separation of forty years.  They spend a few moments discussing Mattie's marriage and subsequent widowhood.  Mattie tells Felix she's not sure why she decided to move back to their hometown: "The list of people who are gone is getting longer and longer, and it seems like all I'm doing is just waiting for my name to be called."  Felix, who never married and has lived alone for forty years, knows waiting can be a waste of life.  Felix: "You can't wait for anything, Mattie.  Close your eyes, hold your breath, stay in one spot your whole life, but you're still moving.  Like the world is, you know, moving under you.  There's no waiting."

Felix has come to ask his old friend, Charlie, to preach at his funeral service.  Before committing to do so, Charlie has a question to ask Felix about a situation in his past: "Before you left here, did you do the right thing?"  Felix: "I felt that I did the right thing, yes."  Charlie: "You confessed?  Asked forgiveness?  Did you tell her, Felix?"  (Felix had confessed a terrible sin to Charlie years earlier and Charlie had advised him to seek forgiveness from the person involved.  Instead, Felix decided to punish himself by retreating into the woods by himself for forty years.)  Charlie, realizing that Felix never confessed, refuses to speak at his funeral.  Felix, angrily: "You listen to me.  I built my own jail and put myself in it.  And I stayed in it for forty g-----n years.  No wife, no kids, no friends, no nothing.  No grandchildren.  Now, that's not enough?"  Charlie: "You know it's not."  (Caution: "g-----n" used once as profanity, "h--l" used once as profanity)

Felix, an old man who has spent the last forty years living alone in the woods, finds himself nearing the end of his life.  Buddy finds him in his barn, seated on the floor after having collapsed earlier.  Felix sighs, closing his eyes.  Buddy: "You sick?"  Felix: "Just going through the motions."  Buddy: "What does that mean?"  Felix: "There's alive and there's dead and there's a worse place in between 'em that I hope you never know nothin' about."

Felix is addressing the people gathered for his "funeral party."  Knowing that he is feared, hated, and gossiped about by many, he has decided to finally tell his story...the story of why he has spent forty years living as a hermit.  Felix: "I was always restless, thought I'd see the world.  But I didn't go nowhere on purpose because I did something I was ashamed of.  Something I could never fix.  When I told Charlie (his pastor friend) what I'd done, he told me to confess to God and the law and to somebody else, so's I could get forgiveness.  But I didn't want forgiveness.  No.  I needed to hold on to what I did, to be sick from it every day of my life.  So that I never told nobody else.  Nobody."
