ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Pi has just told the writer the story behind his unusual name...Piscine.  Now he explains the effect that name had on his middle school image.  The other boys enjoyed deliberately mispronouncing his name and took every opportunity they had to mock poor Piscine.  His first year of middle school, therefore, was unpleasant.  The following year, however, Piscine came prepared.  As the teacher of his first class called his name during roll, Piscine walked to the chalkboard to announce his presence.  Facing the class, he gives them a prepared speech, hoping to burn the nickname, "Pi," into their memories: "Good morning.  I am Piscine Molitor Patel, known to all as Pi, the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet, which is also used in mathematics to represent the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter.  An irrational number of infinite length, usually rounded to three digits as 3.14.  Pi."  Writer: "And from then on, you were Pi?"  Pi: "Well, no, not quite."  As he sits back down, a classmate resumes the old nickname: "Nice try."  Pi didn't give up, however: "But I still had the whole day ahead of me."  Pi repeats his speech in French and geography, but it isn't until mathematics class that his new reputation is secured.  Students and teachers come rushing from all over campus to watch Pi write out the mathematical figure Pi to hundreds of places out.  Kids chant, "Pi!  Pi!  Pi!," as Pi, having already filled three entire blackboards with numbers, continues on to a fourth without stopping.  His teacher looks in amazement at a reference book, smiling: "It's right.  He's really doing this!"  Pi: "By the end of that day, I was Pi Patel, school legend."  (Caution: "pissing" said numerous times)

A writer has come to interview Pi in the hopes of hearing his life story.  Pi's uncle, Mamaji, had sent the writer to Pi, knowing he had an incredible story to tell.  Pi: "So, what has Mamaji already told you?"  Writer: "He said you had a story that would make me believe in God."  Pi laughs, joking: "He would say that about a nice meal.  As for God, I can only tell you my story.  You will decide for yourself what you believe."

Pi is being interviewed by a writer hoping to turn his story into a book.  He is telling the writer about coming to know Christ as a boy.  After his brother dared him to enter a mountain chapel and drink the holy water, young Pi is confronted by a priest, who kindly hands him a glass of water.  Pi looks around at the paintings depicting the suffering of Christ, and he can't help asking the priest: "Why would a God do that?  Why would He send His own Son to suffer for the sins of ordinary people?"  Priest: "Because He loves us.  God made Himself approachable to us, human, so we could understand Him.  We can't understand God in all His perfection, but we can understand God's Son and His suffering, as we would a brother's."  After relating the memory, Pi tells the writer how he felt at the time: "That made no sense.  Sacrificing the innocent to atone for the sins of the guilty...what kind of love is that?  But, this Son...I couldn't get Him out of my head."  Pi tells how he returned to the priest to question him: "If God is so perfect, and we are not, why would He want to create all this?  Why does He need us at all?"  Priest: "All you have to know is that He loves us.  God so loved this world that He gave His only Son..."  Pi, remembering: "The longer I listened to the priest, the more I came to like this Son of God."

Pi and his family are just sitting down to dinner.  Pi crosses himself, in Catholic manner, before beginning to eat.  His Hindu mother and brother, eating no meat, listen as their atheist father praises the roasted lamb.  Pi's father, frustrated that his son is so religious, teases him: "You only need to convert to three more religions, Piscine, and you will spend your life on holiday."  Ravi, Pi's brother, joins in, mocking Pi's simultaneous adherence to Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam: "Are you going to Mecca this year, Swami Jesus?"  Father, seriously: "You cannot follow three different religions at the same time, Piscine."  Pi: "Why not?"  Father: "Because, believing in everything at the same time is the same as not believing in anything at all."

Pi, born a Hindu, has just told the writer about his acceptance of both Christianity and Islam as a boy.  Writer: "So, you're a Christian and a Muslim?"  Pi: "And a Hindu, of course."  Writer: "And a Jew, I suppose?"  Pi: "Well, I do teach a course on the Kabbalah at the university.  And why not?  Faith is a house with many rooms."  Writer: "But no room for doubt?"  Pi: "Oh, plenty.  On every floor.  Doubt is useful.  It keeps faith a living thing.  After all, you cannot know the strength of your faith until it's been tested."

Pi and his family are onboard a ship when Pi is awakened by a terrible storm.  Excited, he tries to get his brother to go with him to watch, but Ravi refuses.  Undaunted by his brother's warnings, Pi stumbles out onto the deck, where the wind and the rain immediately begin lashing at him.  Pi laughs as he slips around on the wet deck, screaming at the lightning and thunder.  He enjoys the storm until red warning lights on the ship begin to flash and a siren begins to wail.  Concerned, he looks down on another deck, where sailors are struggling to maintain control of the vessel.  He watches as a giant wave washes over the deck, taking sailors overboard with it.  Now truly frightened, Pi runs back to try to warn his parents.  He races down the stairs, screaming for his family to get out.  At the bottom, the lower decks are already submerged, and Pi dives into the water to swim back to his room.  Once there, he struggles to open the door underwater.  Finally, he succeeds, but the suction force of the water being released from the room is too strong for him.  He is carried away from the room where his family members are almost certainly already drowned.

Pi is trapped in the ocean on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger.  Having fashioned himself a secondary raft to keep out of the tiger's way, Pi needs to go back to the main boat for supplies.  Peeking under the canvas, he sees the tiger is asleep.  Locating the supplies, he begins to eat and drink greedily, thirsty and starved from his ordeal.  Without warning, the tiger leaps out from under the canvas with a roar, diving at Pi.  The material of the canvas stretched over half of the boat keeps the tiger from catching his intended prey.  He continues to try, however, and Pi cowers in his tiny corner of the boat, eyes wide with fear.  When the tiger momentarily stops his attack, Pi tries to escape out over the canvas, but the tiger stops him, leaping to the spot Pi had been cowering only moments before.  When a rat, equally frightened of the tiger, climbs onto Pi's head for protection, Pi throws the rat at the tiger, using the distraction of the light snack as an opportunity to dive overboard.  But the tiger's pursuit doesn't stop there.  While Pi tries to push his tiny makeshift raft away from the lifeboat, the tiger reappears suddenly, swiping at Pi with a giant paw.  Finally, the tiger retreats after almost falling overboard.  Pi, overcome with fear and relief, vomits into the ocean.

Pi sits alone on a tiny raft attached to a lifeboat.  The sun rises, shining on the water like a mirror.  The sky reflected in the glowing water makes it appear as if Pi is floating in the atmosphere, alone among the clouds.  Out of desperation, Pi writes a note begging for help, putting it in an empty water can and setting it adrift on the still sea.  Pi pulls his raft up to the lifeboat, which has been commandeered by a tiger.  Pi lifts the canvas to stare at the vicious creature, perhaps to remind himself that he is not the last remaining living thing on the planet.  He pushes the raft back, away from the lifeboat, and looks to the heavens: "God, I give myself to You.  I am Your vessel.  Whatever comes, I want to know.  Show me."

Pi, marooned in the middle of the ocean on a tiny raft, is reading a survival manual that came with his lifeboat.  As he reads the words, he does his best to perform the tasks suggested.  "Set your house in order and dig in for the battle to survive.  Establish a strict schedule for eating, drinking water, and getting rest.  Keep busy, but avoid unnecessary exertion."  Finally, as Pi scratches the number of days he's been at sea on the side of the boat, he reads: "Above all, don't lose hope."

Pi has been stranded on the ocean for weeks when he spots a ship in the distance.  Excitedly, he begins shooting flares into the sky, hoping to attract attention.  He shoots flare after flare, watching in tense anticipation.  After awhile, the sun begins setting and the boat is way off in the distance, having passed Pi without seeing his little raft.  Pi, however, continues to wave a smoke flare, hoping against impossible odds that he will be rescued.  Finally, the sky is dark and the boat is gone.  Hopelessness is etched on Pi's face, but he remembers a line from the lifeboat survival guide: "Above all, don't lose hope."  Pi fires another flare into the sky.

Pi is adrift in the ocean with a tiger when a huge storm begins to brew.  The wind and the rain lash against him as he tries to make preparations to last out the storm.  A sudden gust carries away his precious survival guide and he cries out in disappointment.  Just then, the sun breaks through the clouds for a moment, sending its beams down to the ocean like a waterfall of light.  Pi stops, watching the beauty in awe.  A thick streak of lightning strikes the water just next to Pi, and the ocean becomes electrified, full of gorgeous fingers of blue light.  Pi is astounded by the majesty of the storm and screams out into the wind: "Praise be to God!  Lord of all worlds!  The compassionate, the merciful!"  Pi wants his only friend, the tiger, to share in the experience, and he tries to coax the tiger out from under the canvas.  When the tiger, afraid of the storm, stays in his hideout, Pi pulls off the canvas to force him to see: "Don't hide yourself!  He's come to us!  It's a miracle!  Come out and see God, Richard Parker!"  The tiger, removed from his refuge, is overcome by fear.  Pi looks into his eyes, seeing that fear, and suddenly he is angry with God.  "Why are You scaring him?  I've lost my family!  I've lost everything!  I surrender!  What more do You want?"  A huge wave hits Pi, cutting off his words and knocking him backward into the ocean.

Pi has just told the writer the part of his story in which an island provided much needed rest from the endless struggle for survival on the open ocean.  But, the time came when he knew he needed to leave the island.  So, he loaded up his lifeboat and his tiger and returned to the ocean, preferring to risk being stranded at sea than to be lost and alone forever on an empty island.  At the same time he realized he couldn't stay on the island, Pi also recognized the blessing the island had been, coming at just the right time during his suffering.  Pi, attributing his circumstances to the miraculous care of God: "No one has seen that floating island since, and you won't read about those trees in any nature book.  And yet, if I hadn't found those shores, I would have died.  Even when God seemed to have abandoned me, He was watching.  Even when He seemed indifferent to my suffering, He was watching.  And when I was beyond all hope of saving, He gave me rest, then gave me a sign to continue my journey."
