ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

The priest Zechariah has come to the temple in Jerusalem to burn incense before the Lord.  He enters the holy temple, praying aloud while he burns the incense.  Suddenly, Zechariah hears a whispered voice call out his name from within the temple.  It is the voice of an angel, telling Zechariah that his wife will give birth to a son.  Zechariah: "My wife is too old to bear a child."  The angel continues his prophecy: "And he will be a prophet of the Most High, for he will make ready a people prepared for the Lord."  Zechariah still doubts that this is possible: "But I am an old man."  Angel: "You will be struck dumb and not be able to speak because you believest not my words."  Zechariah drops the bowl of incense and hurries out of the temple.  He is visibly distraught, but unable to speak a word when he is greeted outside by the temple priests.  Priest: "He has seen a vision.  A vision from God!"

Herod has sent his soldiers throughout the kingdom to extract money to build his new palace.  The poverty-stricken people are lined up before Herod's soldiers, waiting for their turn to pay the hefty tax.  A man comes to the front of the line, asking the soldiers to wait until the harvest to collect the tax.  In the other line, Mary's father is begging for leniency as well.  He begs the soldiers to give him one more year to collect the money and he also promises to give Herod a third of his land.  The soldier demands his donkey as well.  Mary's father: "That's all I have!"  Back in the other line, Herod's soldier orders the man's daughter to be taken to pay his debt.  He begs for her freedom, promising to pay double, but the soldiers are hard and ignore his pleas.  His wife wails as her daughter is torn forcibly from her arms.  The two parents are devastated as their daughter is thrown, screaming, on top of a horse and a soldier rides away with her.  Mary's father's donkey is seized as well.  He tries to tell the soldier he can't survive without the animal, but the soldier only laughs.  Soldier: "All of us must die.  Some sooner than others."  The soldier turns to the man holding the donkey.  Soldier: "Kill it.  We have enough."

Mary is sitting alone, listening to the wind rustle in the trees.  She hears a whispering sound and sees a man in white standing in the distance.  Startled, she hears a voice call out to her: "Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you."  Suddenly, the man in white stands before her, telling her not to be afraid.  Angel: "You will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son.  And you will call his name Jesus."  Mary: "How can this be, since I've been with no man?"  Angel: "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power from the Most High will overshadow you."  The angel tells Mary that her cousin, Elizabeth, has conceived a child in her old age.  Angel: "For nothing set by God can be impossible."  Mary kneels humbly before the angel: "Let it be done to me according to your word."  She bows her head.  A bird flies low over her and she looks up.  The angel is gone.  She watches the bird soaring high in the sky.

Mary, pregnant with Jesus, has come to stay with Elizabeth, who is pregnant with John the Baptist.  At the sound of Mary's voice, Elizabeth looks up, startled.  She looks down at her stomach, feeling her child move inside her.  She walks quickly toward Mary, joyfully embracing her.  Elizabeth: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!"  Mary: "But...how could you know?"  Elizabeth: "Who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  The moment I heard your voice, my child leapt in my womb for joy.  Blessed is she who believes the Lord's words."

Elizabeth and Zechariah, along with their family, are gathered for the circumcision and christening of their son.  Elizabeth: "He shall have the name of John."  (An angel had told Zechariah to name their son John.)  One of Elizabeth's relatives is disturbed: "But, Elizabeth, there is no one in your family who bears that name.  Zechariah would not wish for this.  If he could speak, he would want a name that honors such a blessed child."  (Zechariah had been struck mute by an angel for not believing God would give him a son.  (See Scene # CV04328.)  As the woman is speaking, Zechariah moves toward his table and writes something on a slate to show the family.  He holds it up, but no one sees him.  Then, Zechariah's tongue is released and he is able to speak for the first time in months: "His name is John."

Mary has come home from Elizabeth's house and it is obvious that she is now pregnant.  She tells her parents of the visit from the angel, but they don't believe her.  Her parents are angry and disappointed.  Mary's mother: "Women have been put to death for this.  They could stone you in the street."  Mary's mother sobs.  Mary: "I have told the truth.  Whether you believe is your choice."  Meanwhile, Joseph has been standing to the side, listening to every word and silently grieving.  He asks to speak to Mary himself.  Joseph: "Do you know the reason I chose you, Mary?  I believed you were a woman of great virtue."  Mary looks down, knowing Joseph too does not believe her.  Joseph asks Mary what he should do.  He cannot lie and pretend the baby is his, yet he cannot bring himself to publicly accuse her either.  Mary looks down, cradling her stomach, knowing she could be stoned.  Mary, boldly trusting God: "There is a will for this child greater than my fear of what they may do."  She looks Joseph in the eye.  Joseph tells Mary he will not accuse her and therefore there can be no trial.  Mary, sadly: "You have shown great mercy, Joseph.  For that I will be thankful."  Joseph rushes out of the house.

Joseph is dreaming that he is walking down a street in his village.  People are running past him toward a crowd in the middle of the street.  Joseph stops beside his friend, who hands him a stone.  Joseph looks toward the crowd.  They are all holding stones and staring angrily at a woman dressed in white.  They are calling out to Joseph, telling him to throw the first stone.  Joseph joins the angry mob and his eyes, once confused, are now blazing with condemnation.  He stares at his betrothed, Mary, the woman in white.  Joseph raises his arm to throw the stone at her, but an angel steps in front of him, blocking the way.  Angel: "Joseph, fear not.  For that which is conceived in Mary is of the Holy Spirit."  Joseph wakes from his dream, drenched in sweat, knowing that he was just visited by an angel of the Lord.

King Herod has come to the temple in Jerusalem to make the sacrifice for his sins.  He stands before a cow.  The priest bends down, speaking several words into the ears of the cow.  Herod repeats the words aloud.  Priest, to Herod: "Pass your sins onto the animal."  Herod steps forward, grasping the cow by the horns.  Herod bends forward, pressing his forehead to the forehead of the cow.  He remains in that position for a few moments.  The cow is then strapped to a table and killed before Herod's eyes.

Mary and Joseph are at the end of a long and tiring journey to Bethlehem.  Just before they arrive in the city, Mary tells Joseph that the baby is ready to be born.  Joseph begins to hurry, seeing that Mary is in pain.  He comes to the first house he sees and asks the man if there is a place for him and his wife to stay.  The man turns him away.  Joseph hurries to the next house.  Mary is now breathing heavily, her face revealing the pain.  Joseph frantically asks the man at the next house for shelter, but he is again denied.  Joseph begins running from house to house, knocking on doors and pleading for shelter.  Mary lifts her eyes to heaven: "Please, Lord, will you not provide for us?"  Mary calls out to Joseph, knowing her time is near.  He lifts her off the donkey and begins carrying her down the street.  Finally, he encounters a man.  Joseph: "I ask not your home, but any place you have!"  The man points toward his stable, which is little more than a cave carved in the rock.  Joseph carries Mary into the dark stable.

In Mary's hometown, her parents look out at the night sky and see a bright star shining over Bethlehem.  In Elizabeth's town, she and her husband also see and marvel at this star.  And, just outside Bethlehem, the three wise men who have been following the star for months come to a stop.  They watch in awe as the star grows in brilliance and shines down almost like a small sun.  The rays of the star shine through the roof of the stable where Mary is about to give birth.  Mary, helped by Joseph, strains in agony, her face lit by the rays of the star.  She struggles in labor, crying out in pain.  Suddenly, the star appears even brighter and Joseph cries out.  The baby Jesus is born.  Joseph holds the crying baby up, laughing in amazement to be holding the Savior of the world.  Mary looks up to the sky in gratitude.  Joseph hands the baby to his mother and the two of them stare in joy at the miracle child.  Outside, the star is still shining brightly, illuminating the stable and its occupants.

Shepherds just outside Bethlehem are in the field, watching over their sheep.  One old shepherd is startled to hear a loud voice, saying: "Rejoice!  Rejoice.  I bring you good tidings of great joy.  For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ, the Lord."  The angel stands at the top of a great rock and the shepherd makes his way toward him.  Angel: "You will find the child, wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger."  The old shepherd, leaning heavily on his crook, finally reaches the top of the rock.  The angel is gone, but he finds himself looking out toward Bethlehem.  A bright star shines in the sky, its rays touching down on a lonely stable.  The old shepherd joins the others, who are already moving toward the city to see the child.

Having been told by an angel of Jesus' birth, a group of shepherds walks into Bethlehem to see the child for themselves.  Resting in the stable, which is little more than an open cave, Mary and Joseph are surprised to see the men walking purposefully toward them.  At the head of the group is an old shepherd.  He kneels down before Mary, who is holding Jesus, and the other shepherds crowd around him.  The old man reaches a shaking hand out to touch the baby, but suddenly stops himself.  Mary holds the baby out toward him, saying: "He is for all mankind."  The old shepherd touches the baby, crying a little, awed to be seeing the long-awaited Messiah in the flesh.

The three wise men from the East have arrived in Bethlehem after months of following the star toward the promised Messiah.  They approach the stable where Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus are staying.  Melchior, seeing the family sitting among the sheep and other animals: "The greatest of kings, born in the most humble of places.  God made into flesh."  A close-up is shown of baby Jesus, sleeping peacefully.  The wise men approach Joseph and Mary, one-by-one.  Melchior lays a valuable gift beside Mary, who is holding Jesus.  Melchior: "Gold for the king of kings."  Balthasar sets his gift down beside Melchior's gift.  Balthasar: "Frankincense for the priest of all priests."  Gaspar approaches slowly.  He places his gift with the others: "A gift of myrrh to honor thy sacrifice."  Overcome with emotion, Gaspar looks upon the Savior of the world.  There is an atmosphere of awe and reverence, and the light from the star is shining down brightly on the stable.
