ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

After Mack receives an unstamped, typewritten note inviting him to meet at the shack where Missy was murdered (the message is signed "Papa" - Missy's nickname for God), he arrives as the shack with a gun, thinking this may possibly be an opportunity for meeting and punishing the serial killer. Finding the shack empty, an enraged Mack is tempted to shoot himself; before he can, he encounters a deer, which seems to want to lead him somewhere...

After Mack helps Jesus build a wooden box and helps the Holy Spirit prepare a spot in her garden for a planting, they prepare her body for burial. They place her in the box and lower her in place. They Holy Spirit then takes a bottle and sprinkles liquid on Missy's box. Papa: "Those are your tears, Mackenzie, we've been collecting them for a long time..."

Mack also visits another cave where God's wisdom, in the form of a woman named Sophia, talks to him. Sophia asks Mack to sit in divine judgment over sinners and his family. How would he judge the man who murdered Missy? "I would damn him to hell." What about that man's father, who twisted him into that defiant monster? "I would damn him, too." But how can he stop there - doesn't the legacy of brokenness go all the way back to Adam?  And what about God? "Absolutely, God is to blame."  If it's so easy to judge God, what if he had to choose between his two children? She forces him to make a choice: only ONE can spend an eternity in heaven, and the other an eternity in hell.  "I Can't"  Even though she's only asking him to do something he believes God does. She still presses him, but unable to send one of his children to hell, Mack has an idea: "Take me instead..."

The Divine Trio gives Mack a glimpse into heaven where he encounters the spirit of his father, who apologizes for his mistreatment of Mack and forgives him. Mack also apologizes to his father, whom he killed.

Mack hears the pastor's altar call and comes forward to confess.  Mack's father, an elder in the church and a secret alcoholic, abuses Mack and his mother, and Mack feels a terrible responsibility.  He kneels, crying, confessing his helplessness to an elder.  The elder looks in horror at Mack's father sitting in his pew.  Later, in the pouring rain, Mack's father drags him to the woodpile to punish him for his "disobedience."  Father, furious: "Why do you make me do this, boy?  Why do you embarrass me in front of my people?"  Pushing Mack up against a log, the father begins to beat his son's back with a belt.  Screaming, he orders Mack to recite a Scripture passage: "Say it!"  Mack, crying out in pain: "Obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord."  Father, striking Mack harder: "Louder!"  Mack, calling out through his tears: "Colossians 3:20, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord!"  Mack's father continues to beat him while his mother watches, anguished, from a window in the house.

Mack has brought his children to see Multnomah Falls.  As the four stare at the majestic waterfall, Mack tells them a fable about its origins.  According to the tale, an Indian village became ill with a mysterious disease that ravaged the entire countryside.  When the elders met to devise a plan, the chief told of a prophecy: "The illness could only be stopped if the daughter of a chief gave up her life for her people."  This chief had a daughter, his only child, but he and the other elders were unwilling to ask for such a sacrifice.  When the princess heard the prophecy, however, she decided to give up her own life for her people.  Because her love for them was so great, she climbed to the top of the cliff and jumped over.  "The next morning, a great healing came over the tribe."  The chief wept, grieved over his daughter's sacrifice, asking that her act be remembered forever.  "The Great Spirit was so moved by his tears that he answered his prayers."  Mack points to the waterfall: "Water began to fall.  Right there."

Kate and Josh are on a canoe in the lake when Kate stands, balancing on the wobbly craft.  She calls out to her father to watch her antics, but isn't able to keep her balance.  The canoe tips over, throwing both youths into the water.  Mack comes running when Kate begins to scream that Josh is trapped under the canoe.  Mack sprints down the dock, diving into the water.  When he swims to the canoe, he finds that Josh has been pinned underneath by the strap of his life vest.  He sets him free and drags him ashore.  Josh is unconscious and not breathing.  Panicked, Mack begins to perform CPR.  After several tense moments, he succeeds in reviving his son.

Mack is driving, his thoughts far away on memories of home and family.  His eyes wander from the road, drifting along with his mind.  He breezes past a stop sign and is suddenly jerked into the present by the blare of a loud horn.  He yanks the steering wheel to the side just in time to narrowly avoid being struck by a semi-truck.  His vehicle spins around and around before finally coming to a stop.  Mack, safe but shaken, pants as he watches the truck drive away.

Mack enters the shack, which has been transformed into a lovely country cottage.  He is greeted warmly by a middle-aged black woman: "Mackenzie Allen Phillips!"  After the woman releases him from a big hug, Mack stares at her in confusion: "Do I know you?"  Woman, smiling: "Not very well.  But we can work on that."  Mack looks around the room, seeing two additional people...a young Asian woman and an Arabic man.  The woman introduces herself as Elousia: "I have a lot of names, but that's one of my favorites."  Mack looks at her, realization dawning on his face: "Are you saying that you're..."  Elousia: "I am."  Mack, continuing: "The 'I AM?'"  Elousia: "I am that I am."  She and the other two laugh: "Look at that, already quotin' Scripture."  Elousia then introduces her son, Jesus, who steps forward to shake Mack's hand.  The Asian woman introduces herself as Sarayu.  Jesus, explaining: "Sarayu.  It means, 'a breath of wind.'"  Mack, squinting in confusion, looks around at the three: "So, which one of you is...?"  All three, together: "I am."  Elousia, smiling: "And you have no idea how much I love you."  Mack blinks.

God (in the form of a woman called Papa) tells Mack she knows he is suffering and wants a relationship with him.  Mack: "You're the Almighty God, right?  You know everything.  You're everywhere, all at once.  You have limitless power.  Yet, somehow, you let my little girl die.  When she needed you most.  You abandoned her."  Papa: "I never left her."  Mack: "If you are who you say you are, where were you when I needed you?"  Papa: "Son, when all you see is your pain, you lose sight of me."  Mack: "Stop talking in riddles.  How can you say that you will help me when you couldn't help her?  Because of you, she's gone."  Papa: "The Truth sets everyone free.  And the Truth has a name."  Mack: "Truth?  I know that story.  You left Him, too.  Seems like you have a bad habit of turning your back on those you supposedly love."  Papa: "I'm not who you think I am."  Mack: "He said it Himself: 'My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?'"  Papa, tears in her eyes: "You misunderstand the mystery."  She holds out her wrists for Mack to see the nail scars: "Don't ever think that what my Son chose to do didn't cost us both dearly.  Love always leaves a mark.  We were there together.  I never left Him.  I never left you.  I never left Missy."

God (in the form of a woman called Papa) is serving breakfast to Mack on the patio.  Mack, taking a sip of the coffee she poured him: "Is there anyone you're not especially fond of?"  Papa, smiling: "Nope.  Never been able to find any.  Guess that's just the way I am."  Mack: "Don't you get mad at 'em?"  Papa: "Well, sure.  But what parent doesn't?"  Mack, allowing a little bitterness to seep into his tone: "And that's where your whole wrath thing comes in, doesn't it?"  Papa: "My what?"  Mack: "Your wrath."  Papa, looking blank: "You lost me there."  Mack: "Come on.  Everybody knows you punish the people who disappoint you."  Papa shakes her head: "Nope.  I don't need to punish people.  Sin is its own punishment."

Mack is helping Sarayu dig in the garden.  Mack reaches for an exposed root, but is stopped by Sarayu: "Careful.  That one's deadly."  Mack understandably wonders why she would plant a poisonous plant in her garden.  Sarayu: "You're presuming that poison is bad?"  Mack: "Uh-huh."  Sarayu plucks the root and holds it next to a flower from a different plant: "On its own, the sap from this twig would kill you.  But, combine it with the nectar from this flower, and, suddenly, it contains incredible healing properties."  Sarayu, resuming her digging: "Let me ask you, how confident are you in your ability to discern good from evil?"  Mack: "Usually pretty obvious."  Sarayu: "And your basis for something being good is what?"  Mack: "Well, if it helps me or the people that I love."  Sarayu: "And evil?"  Mack: "If it's harmful.  If it hurts someone that I care about."  Sarayu: "So, pretty much, you are the judge?"  Mack, continuing to work: "Yeah, I guess."  Sarayu: "You ever been wrong?  Or changed your opinion over time?"  Mack: "Sure."  Sarayu: "And there are billions like you...each determining what you think is good and evil.  And when your good clashes with your neighbor's evil, arguments ensue.  Wars break out.  Because all insist on playing God.  You weren't meant to do any of that."

Mack is sitting in a rowboat in the middle of a lake.  Suddenly, his quiet reflection is broken by the sound of his terrified daughter's voice.  He looks around, seeing nothing.  The boat jerks as something underneath strikes it, hard, again and again.  Mack looks down into the water and sees his son under the surface, struggling to come up for air.  He reaches into the water to save him, but the vision disappears.  Mack pulls back his hand, which is now coated in a black sludge.  The inky slime begins to spread outward from the boat, leaking inside and polluting the clean lake.  The boat begins to break apart underneath Mack, who is now gasping in fright.  In the midst of his terror, Mack hears the voice of Jesus: "Mack!  Mack, it's okay."  Mack: "Why are You doing this to me?"  Jesus: "This isn't Me."  Mack: "You told me to come out here!"  Jesus: "Mack, this is happening inside you.  You're letting it consume you and you don't have to."  Mack continues to see painful images from his past - - himself giving CPR to his drowning son and his murdered daughter's coffin.  He looks at the water now rapidly filling the boat and is horrified.  Jesus, pointing to Himself: "Don't look at it, Mack!  Look here!"  Jesus continues, walking on the water toward Mack: "Don't think about the past.  Don't think about the pain.  Look at Me.  Everything is gonna be okay."  Mack looks down one more time as the stern of his boat sinks beneath the water.  He looks back at Jesus and stares at Him in desperation as he sinks.  Jesus, locking into his gaze: "None of this can hurt you.  Trust Me."  Mack's breathing slows as he keeps his eyes on Christ.  Suddenly, he is sitting once again in a sturdy rowboat in the middle of a clear lake.  Jesus walks across the water toward him.

Mack is speaking with Wisdom (personified as a woman in a white dress) in a dim cave: "You know what I don't understand, is how God can love Missy and put her through so much horror?"  Mack wonders if God used the murder of his little girl to punish him.  Wisdom: "Is that who your God is, Mackenzie?  No wonder you're drowning in great sorrow.  God isn't like that.  This was not God's doing."  Mack, accusingly: "He didn't stop it!"  Wisdom: "He doesn't stop a lot of things that cause Him pain.  What happened to Missy was the work of evil.  And no one in your world is immune from it.  You want the promise of a pain-free life?"  Mack, nodding: "Yes."  Wisdom: "There isn't one.  As long as there is another will in this universe, free not to follow God, evil can find a way in."  Mack, whispering: "There's gotta be a better way."  Wisdom: "There is.  But the better way involves trust."  Mack sinks to the ground, relinquishing control: "I don't wanna be the judge anymore."  A glowing light begins to fill the cave behind the waterfall.  Mack stands, looking through the mist, and sees a vision of his daughter, Missy, playing happily in the fields of Heaven.

God (in the form of an elderly man called Papa) has brought Mack to the forest for a task He says will be very painful.  Mack backs away in horror: "You want me to forgive him?"  Papa nods.  Mack: "He killed my daughter!  I wanna hurt him.  I want him to hurt like he hurt me.  I want You to hurt him!"  Papa: "I know you do.  But he, too, is my son.  And I want to redeem him."  Mack, angrily: "Redeem him?  He should burn in Hell!"  Papa: "So, we're back to you as the judge?"  Mack, struggling: "So, You just let him get away with it?"  Papa shakes His head: "Nobody gets away with anything.  Everything bears consequences."  Mack, beginning: "What he did - -"  Papa, finishing: "Was horrible.  I'm not asking you to excuse what he did.  I'm asking you to trust Me to do what's right and to know what's best."  Mack grimaces, shaking his head.  Papa: "Mack, the pain inside is devouring you, robbing you of joy and crippling your capacity to love."  Mack, tearfully: "I can't!"  Papa: "You're not stuck because you can't.  You're stuck because you won't."  Mack sits down, his head between his knees.  Suddenly, he notices a ladybug on his hand (his daughter was murdered by the Ladybug Killer).  Papa bends down next to him: "You don't have to do this alone."  Mack whispers his forgiveness aloud and the ladybug flies away.  Mack, looking far from relieved of his burden: "I'm still angry."  Papa: "Of course you are.  No one lets go all at once.  You might have to do it 1,000 times before it gets any easier.  But, it will."

Mack has just been given the choice of whether to go to heaven or remain on Earth and return to his family.  Mack: "Everything about being here has been so remarkable.  Back home, I go to work.  Try to be a good person.  Love my family.  Does what I do really matter?"  Sarayu: "Absolutely.  Mack, you are important.  And so is everything you do."  Jesus: "Every time you love, Mack, or forgive, with every act of kindness, the universe changes for the better."  Papa nods in agreement: "If anything matters, then everything matters."  Mack: "Then I wanna go home."
