ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Proverbs 28:1"   A 40-year-old Mattie narrates while the camera slowly zooms in on a man's body lying in front of a house at night as snow starts to fall...       "People do not give it credence that a young girl could leave home and go off in the wintertime to avenge her father's blood.  But it did happen.  I was just 14 years of age when a coward by the name of Tom Chaney shot my father down and robbed him of his life and his horse and two California gold pieces that he carried in his trouser band.  Chaney was a hired man and Papa had taken him up to Fort Smith to help lead back a string of Mustang ponies he'd bought.  In town, Chaney had fallen to drink and cards and lost all his money.  He got it into his head he was being cheated and went back to the boarding house for his Henry rifle.  When Papa tried to intervene, Chaney shot him.  Chaney fled.  He could have walked his horse, for not a soul in that city could be bothered to give chase.  No doubt Chaney fancied himself scot-free.  But he was wrong.  You must pay for everything in this world, one way and another.  There is nothing free, except the grace of God."

14 year-old Mattie arrives at the town where her father was recently murdered and asks the sheriff if there's been any progress in arresting the man responsible, Tom Chaney.  The sheriff informs her that Chaney's fled into Indian territory, giving him no jurisdiction.  It's up to the U.S. Marshals now, but they are so backed up, they would probably never get around to it.  Mattie asks if she could hire a marshal to pursue Chaney, and when the sheriff sees nothing wrong with it, she asks who the best marshal is.      Sheriff: "William Waters is the best tracker.  He's half Comanche and it is something to see him cut for sign.  The meanest is Rooster Cogburn.  He is a pitiless man, double tough, and fear don't enter into his thinking.  He loves to pull a cork.  The best is probably L.T. Quinn.  He brings his prisoners in alive.  He may let one slip by now and again but he believes that even the worst of men is entitled to a fair shake."       Mattie: "Where can I find this Rooster?"

After her father is murdered, Mattie visits the city where the crime took place to hire a marshal to hunt the killer down.  Desperate for money to fund the bounty and pay for accommodations, she enters Col. Stonehill's place of business to try and extract as much refunded money as she can from the shrewd business man.  The goods of interest are some ponies her father bought which the family no longer needs, a saddle horse the murderer stole from under Stonehill's care, and a gray horse the criminal left behind.  The much older man at first is unwilling to give her anything.  But he underestimates the girl's intelligence as they go back and forth until the clever and well-spoken 14-year-old leaves with $320 of Stonehill's money!

Texas Ranger LaBoeuf wakes up Mattie in her room at the boarding house.  He's definitely in over his head as the headstrong and articulate girl criticizes the lawman's ineffectiveness in catching her father's murderer so far...         LaBoeuf: "My name's LaBoeuf.  I've just come from Yell County."       Mattie (eyeing his fancy leathers): "We have no rodeo clowns in Yell County."        LaBoeuf: "A saucy line will not get you far with me.  I saw your mother yesterday morning.  She said for you to come right on home."        Mattie: "What was your business there?"      LaBoeuf (pulling out a picture of the murderous Chaney): "This is a man I think you know. ...He dallied in Monroe, Louisiana, and Pine Bluff, Arkansas, before turning up at your father's place."       Mattie: "And why did you not catch him in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, or Monroe, Louisiana?"      LaBoeuf: "He is a crafty one."       Mattie: "I thought him slow-witted, myself."       LaBoeuf: "That was his act."       Mattie: "It was a good one.  Are you some kind of law?"       LaBoeuf: "That's right," proudly pulling back his coat to reveal a hidden badge, "I'm a Texas Ranger."     Mattie smiles wryly: "That may make you a big noise in that state.  In Arkansas, you should mind that your Texas trappings and title do not make you an object of fun."      A little embarrassed, LaBoeuf just stares at the sharp-witted youngster.       Mattie: "Why have you been ineffectually pursuing Chaney?"      LaBoeuf: "He shot and killed a state senator named Bibbs in Waco, Texas.  The Bibbs family put out a reward. ...Do you know anything about the whereabouts of Chaney?"      Mattie: "He is in the Territory, and I hold out little hope for you earning your bounty."      LaBoeuf: "Why is that?"      Mattie: "My man will beat you to it.  I have hired a deputy marshal, the toughest one they have.  And he's familiar with the Lucky Ned Pepper gang they say Chaney's tied up with."      LaBoeuf: "Well, I will throw in with you and your marshal."          Mattie: "No.  Marshal Cogburn and I are fine."       LaBoeuf: "It'll be to our mutual advantage. ...Mattie: "I'm sorry that you are paid piecework and not on wages, and that you have been eluded the winter long by a halfwit."          Insulted, LaBoeuf stands: "You give out very little sugar with your pronouncements.  While I sat there watching you, I gave some thought to stealing a kiss, though you are very young and sick and unattractive to boot.  But now I have a mind to give you five or six good licks with my belt."      Mattie: "Well, one would be as unpleasant as the other," smiling mischievously, "If you wet your comb, it might tame that cowlick."

Come sunrise, Mattie excitedly gets her things together and heads straight to Rooster Cogburn's to start their manhunt together.  In part of her narration of a letter to her mother, she quotes Psalm 23: "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil.  The Author of all things watches over me and I have a fine horse."  Unfortunately when she arrives at Rooster's he is already gone -- but has left a note: "Here inside is a train ticket for your return home.  Use it.  By the time you read this, I will be across the river in the Indian Nation.  Pursuit would be futile.  I will return with your man Chaney.  Leave me to my work.  Reuben Cogburn."           Furious, she takes off for the river.  Seeing Rooster and Texas Ranger LaBoeuf on the other side, she leads her horse into the river (after outwitting the ferryman who's been waiting for her).  The two men watch in astonishment as the spunky teen comes splashing up next to them.        Mattie (to Rooster): "I was to accompany you.  If I do not, there is no agreement and my money was stolen."           LaBoeuf: "Marshal, put this child back on the ferry.  It's a long road and time's a-wastin'."    (See previous Scene for LaBoeuf's sour history with her.)       After a bit more squabbling, LaBoeuf has had enough and grabs Mattie and starts whipping her backside.          Mattie, screaming: "Are you going to let him do this, Marshal?!"        Rooster (after a few moments): "No, I don't believe I will.  Put your switch away, LaBoeuf."           LaBoeuf (continuing to switch her): "I aim to finish what I started!"        Rooster: "That will be the biggest mistake you ever made, you Texas brush-popper," as he quickly draws a six-shooter and points it at him!

Rooster and Mattie go deeper into Indian territory and come upon a supply store where two children are tormenting a tethered horse with a stick.  His ire raised, Rooster immediately cuts the animal loose and knocks one of the kids off the porch.  Walking into the store, he kicks the other one off as well.  Coming out of the store later, he comically kicks the boy off the porch once again...

After Rooster chooses whiskey during the night instead of sleep, Mattie and LaBoeuf join their wobbling and singing leader up the trail the next morning.  Rooster encourages LaBoeuf to return home since he has a shoulder wound (which LaBoeuf believes came from Rooster's rifle), while LaBoeuf counters he's no worse than a one-eyed man who can't shoot (referring to Rooster's eye-patch and drunken state)...      LaBoeuf: "You are more handicapped without the eye than I without the arm."        Rooster: "I can hit a gnat's eye at 90 yards," as he throws his empty whiskey bottle up in the air and quickly draws and shoots his pistol... and misses.  The bottle falls to the ground, and after a couple more misfires, Rooster finally squints his one good eye and shatters the bottle.  Rooster blames bad shells someone sold him.      LaBoeuf: "I thought you were gonna say the sun was in your eyes.  That is to say," looking over at Mattie, "your eye."        Irritated, Rooster continues to retrieve cornbread biscuits from his saddlebag to fling into the air as the two lawmen try to show each other up.             (Caution: "G-- d--- it" is slurred once in Rooster's drunken state)

Deep in the wilderness, Mattie heads down to a shallow river to fetch some fresh water.  While dipping her bucket, she notices serveral horses on the other side.  Suddenly a man spots her and approaches.  Mattie drops her bucket and stares in amazement at Tom Chaney -- the man who murdered her father, and whom she and Marshal Cogburn have been tracking for weeks.  Chaney recognizes her and asks what she's doing this far from home.  She pulls out a very large six-shooter and says she's come to take him back to Fort Smith -- along with a posse of 50 officers back at her camp (bluffing).  Chaney calls her bluff and says they'll have to come get him...        Mattie: "Well, if you refuse to go, I will have to shoot you."         Chaney: "Well, then, you had better cock your piece."        Mattie, looking down and stuggling to pull back the hammer.       Chaney: "All the way back...till it locks..."       Mattie: "I KNOW how to do it.  You will not go with me?"        Chaney: "No, it's just the other way around," as he starts to approach her, "You're going with me..."     Mattie pulls the trigger -- which knocks her back into the water -- hitting Chaney in the side.        Chaney (astonished), groans: "I did not think you would do it."       Mattie: "Well, what do you think, now?"         Chaney (moaning): "One of my short ribs is broken..."

While Mattie and Ranger LaBoeuf watch high on a bluff, Marshal Rooster Cogburn faces four armed outlaws in the plain below.  The four horsemen approach the one, several hundred yards apart.  Leader Lucky Ned asks Rooster to give them the road.  Rooster refuses -- and calls to the other three riders to stand clear, as he has no interest in them.       Lucky Ned: "What is your intention, Rooster?  You think one on four is a dogfall?" as the outlaws chuckle.       Rooster: "I mean to kill you in one minute, Ned.  Or see you hanged in Fort Smith at Judge Parker's convenience.  Which will you have?"        Lucky Ned: "I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!"       Rooster: "Fill your hand, you son of a b----!" as the marshal places the horses reigns in his mouth, pulls both pistols, and charges!   When the smoke clears, all three of Ned's men are dead, Ned has been shot in the shoulder, but Rooster has been shot as well and is down on the ground helpless with his dead horse across his leg.        Lucky Ned: "Well, Rooster, I am shot to peices," as he aims his pistol at the helpless man, "It seems neither of us is to see Judge Parker..."        Ranger LaBoeuf however, has had his rifle trained on Lucky Ned and takes the shot -- knocking the man off his horse, dead.          Mattie (to LaBoeuf): "Woooo, hooooo!  Some bully shot!  That was 400 yards, at least!"    (Caution: "son of a b----" is used)

After falling into a deep pit, Mattie is accosted by rattlesnakes.  As they begin to crawl around her, Rooster calls to her from the top.  He rappels down on a rope and shoots the reptiles in quick fashion -- but not before one bites Mattie on the hand.  After cutting the injury with a knife and trying to suck the poison out, Ranger LaBoeuf helps pull them out.  Rooster throws the girl on his horse and quickly rides off to hopefully find a doctor and save her life.  As Leaning of the Everlasting Arms plays softly in the background, Rooster rides the rest of that day and on through the night with the girl slumped in front of him.  Mattie wakes long enough to beg Rooster to stop and let the horse rest, but Rooster refuses -- too many more miles to go.  Their horse finally collapses, forcing Rooster to shoot it.  Rooster picks Mattie up and begins running with her.  After awhile, and near complete exhaustion, they come upon a farm house.  Rooster falls to his knees and fires his pistol to get the owner's attention.      25 years later, a now 40-year-old Mattie narrates as she returns to the old city to reconnect with her friends: "By the time we reached Bagby's store, my hand had turned black.  I was not awake when I lost the arm.  The marshal had stayed with me, I was told, till I was out of danger.  But he departed before I came round."
