ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Portia is reflecting on the thick skin necessary for her career.  As an admissions officer for Princeton, she must face an army of hopeful students competing for a small number of spots in the prestigious university.  Portia, thinking of the parents' anger and disappointment when they realize: "...there isn't room for every perfectly nurtured, organically-fed, well-tutored offspring."  Outside the admissions office, a group of prospective students and parents is getting ready to tour the campus.  Their guide begins by dampening their hopes: "There's no point in trying to impress me.  I have absolutely no power over your fate here.  We had 26,241 applications last year, 1,308 of those applicants are attending school here."  At this point, Portia opens her office door, accidentally stepping into the middle of the tour.  Her discomfort is evident as every parent and student stares at her, knowing she holds their fate in her hands.  One bold student asks: "So, what's the secret to getting in?"  Portia, while every ear hangs on her answer: "Just be yourself.  If this is the right place for you, then this is where you'll end up."

Portia is ready to start reviewing the applicants for the upcoming school year at Princeton.  As she reads the applications, she envisions the students in her office, pleading their case in person.  The first applicant is a girl on her knees before Portia's desk.  Holding her hands as if in prayer, the girl tells Portia her ambition to be a pediatric surgeon and contribute to her community.  Noting that she received a "B" in physics and failed to take advanced courses, Portia quickly rejects her.  The girl disappears, being replaced by the next contestant - - a young man who over-confidently seats himself on Portia's desk.  He brags that, since 1841, every male in his family has attended Princeton.  Portia pushes him off her desk and he crashes to the floor.  The next girl has an incredible list of accomplishments: "Student body president and gymnastics national champion.  Twenty-four hundred on the SAT.  4.5 GPA."  When Portia questions whether the girl may have been unfairly privileged, she smiles confidently, doing a handstand on Portia's desk: "My father is Cuban.  And in a wheelchair."  Portia smiles, approving her first student.

Portia has come to Quest School to give a presentation on Princeton University.  Assuming the students are all eager to apply, Portia is surprised when she is confronted with a barrage of hostile questions and comments disparaging the university specifically and higher education in general.  Student: "Don't people just need a college degree if you want to pursue the societally approved definition of success?"  Nelson: "Wouldn't you be better off sitting in your room, reading books, instead of spending all that money?"  Student: "We should be educating ourselves to be citizens of the world and not of some guarded, suburban enclave."  Student, self-righteously: "What we want is to leave the planet better than we found it!"  Portia: "I have a question for all of you.  Just how will you leave the planet better?  Will you eradicate disease?  You're gonna need a medical degree.  If you want to create new drug therapies, that's a PhD.  Do you want to defend the innocent and secure justice for all?  I regret to inform you that you will have to go to law school.  There are plenty of college graduates out there ardently hoping to leave the world better than they found it.  We are looking for those people!"

Portia and Mark are hosting a party for Mark's co-workers.  They are preparing food in the kitchen when Helen, Mark's beautiful co-worker, enters, directing a speaking look at Mark.  Portia, disliking the pretentious woman, quickly shoos her from the kitchen with a basket of bread.  Mark, a scared look on his face, watches Helen leave.  Portia, putting her hands on Mark's shoulders: "I want you to know that this...us...this life, is everything that I always wanted."  Mark laughs nervously, seeing Helen re-enter the kitchen.  Portia quickly shoves a salad into Helen's reluctant hands, asking her to take it to the table.  Helen stares at Mark.  Mark swallows hard: "Portia, we need to talk.  I can't do this anymore.  I'm sorry."  Portia is confused, not realizing that Mark is ending their relationship.  Suddenly, the sound of a car horn blaring causes them to look out the window.  Helen is seated in her car, waving at Mark to get in.  Portia is still clueless.  Mark: "Helen is having twins.  My twins.  I'm leaving you."  Portia's jaw drops.  Angry and hurt, she can't believe Mark would have sex with another woman.  Mark turns to leave, but Portia begs him to stay: "We are a family unit."  Helen again honks, beginning to back the car out of the driveway.  Mark quickly makes his exit, reminding Portia not to leave the chicken in the oven.

Susannah, an unconventional single mom, has called her daughter to console her after the end of her long-term relationship.  When Portia admits that she has been hurt by her boyfriend, Susannah feels vindicated in her own relational choices.  Interrupting Portia, she gloats that her decision to become impregnated by a stranger so she could raise a child on her own was the best one.  Susannah: "I knew I needed his sperm, but I did not need him.  I wanted a child, but not some moody relationship.  Sex with a stranger on the New Jersey transit was the answer to my problems.  It's not healthy to need other people too much.  And now you need to go out and fall in love with yourself."  Portia, disgusted with her mom's advice, quickly ends the conversation.  (Caution: a-word used)

Portia is in the toy store when she sees a young mother struggling with her two small children.  The mother, holding a baby, is trying to get a ball down from a high shelf.  Portia, smiling, walks up to the mother and tries to take the baby from her: "Let me.  It takes a village."  The woman understandably refuses to relinquish the child to a stranger: "Get your hands off my baby!"  Portia, continuing to pull on the child: "No, I was helping."  Mother, now playing tug-of-war with Portia: "What are you doing?"  Portia, a tight grip on the infant: "Everybody needs a little help."  Finally, the mother is able to wrench her baby from Portia's well-intentioned, but foolish grasp.  She walks quickly away with her children.  Portia calls after her: "I'm helping you.  I'm not a creep."

Portia discovers Nelson in her car, trying to run away from home.  She calls John, his father, promising to return the boy immediately.  When they arrive at Nelson's house, the boy stands before his father, looking guilty.  John picks up a statue of a horse and shows it to his son: "Nelson, you know how much I love this statue, right?"  Nelson: "Yeah.  You rode a horse three days through Outer Mongolia, in the pouring rain, living off a mare's milk, to bring it back."  John: "That's right.  And I have dragged it place to place, across the world, ever since I was 22."  Nelson jumps, startled, as John suddenly throws the horse to the ground, smashing it to bits.  John: "That is nothing compared to how much I love you!  Please don't scare me like that again."  John embraces his son.

John is discouraged after his son attempted to run away from home (see scene # CV06499).  He vents his feelings to Portia: "This parenthood thing.  Oh, it's a disaster."  Portia, herself childless: "So I hear."  John: "I'm screwing it up.  Am I screwing it up?"  Portia: "You're asking me?"  John, who is stunned to learn that his son hasn't enjoyed their nomadic lifestyle: "I wanted to give him the kind of life I didn't have as a kid.  I wanted to give him the opposite of what I had as a kid."  John had assumed that Nelson would thrive with the kind of life he had wanted, but, instead, Nelson's interests were completely different from John's own: "He plays bridge.  He listens to lite FM.  He asked for a blue blazer with gold buttons and anchors on them for Christmas."  John, at his wit's end: "What am I doing wrong?"  Portia: "At least you're trying.  I mean, there's so many different kinds of parents.  There's no one best way to do it.  Or so I've gathered with my vast experience reading personal essays."
