ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

- Information about the licenses and subscriptions that you purchase from us including your method of payment.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

Captain Lindsay, commissioned by the Royal Navy, is about to leave on a long sea voyage.  He has brought his young daughter, Belle, to the home of his uncle in the hopes that he and his wife would care for her while he is away.  Standing in the middle of the stately hall, the captain faces his wealthy family, putting a protective arm around his daughter.  Captain: "I beg you, Uncle, love her as I would were I here..."  Lady Mansfield shakes her head: "That is impossible."  Captain, heatedly: "What is right can never be impossible!"  Lady Mansfield: "She is black!"  Captain: "She is my blood."  Mary: "But she is black."  The captain reminds his family that he cannot know when the navy will allow him leave, making it impossible for him to care for his daughter himself.  Lord Mansfield, pompously: "Do you have in mind my position, my reputation?  I am the Lord Chief Justice!  Have some sense of propriety, boy, and understand what it is you are asking.  She is a mulatto!"  The room is quiet for a moment before Lady Mansfield speaks: "What is her name?"  Captain: "Dido Elizabeth Belle Lindsay."  Lord Mansfield, surprised: "She takes your name?"  Captain, his arm still around Belle's shoulders: "I am not ashamed."

Mr. Davinier has come to ask Lord Mansfield to tutor him in the law.  Lord Mansfield: "What is the purpose of the law, in your eyes?"  Davinier: "To provide certainty where there otherwise might be none."  Lord Mansfield wants to discover the reasons Davinier wants to enter the law profession, and alludes to an economic benefit.  Davinier, the son of a parson, acknowledges that he has little money, but that his desire to be a lawyer doesn't stem from financial gain: "But where my father relies on the Bible, I wish to rely on the law courts."  Lord Mansfield asks Davinier if he eventually wants to become a judge.  Davinier eagerly agrees: "I wish to make the laws, not only administer them, for that is how I truly may change this world.  That is...I mean to say...make it a better place."

Taking the opportunity of a rare moment alone, Belle decides to ask Mr. Davinier about the details of the infamous court case her uncle is judging.  Davinier discloses that the captain of a slave trade ship drowned most of its "human cargo" before arriving at its destination.  Belle, sobered, has special concern for the case because of the color of her skin.  Just then, their discussion is interrupted by the maid, who announces that Belle's dinner is ready in the parlor, and also by Lady Mansfield, who invites Mr. Davinier into the dining room to have dinner with the family.  Mr. Davinier politely declines the invitation, but waits until he and Belle are alone again to question her.  Davinier, with a look of surprise, asks why she is not allowed to dine with her family.  Belle, obviously humiliated, is forced to admit that her skin color supersedes her position as a lady of the house.  Davinier leaves and Belle turns to look at a portrait hanging in the gallery.  It is one of many that depicts a black slave sitting at the feet of his white master.  Later, Belle is seated in front of the mirror in her bedroom.  Agitated, she begins rubbing the skin of her hands.  She moves to her face and her neck, apparently trying to rub and scratch the hated color off.  She beats her breast, weeping, hating the sight of her own skin.

Davinier and Lord Mansfield are discussing the court case surrounding the slave ship Zong.  Davinier: "Your ruling could bring the slave trade to its knees...entirely destroy an economic foundation of this land.  Is that pressure not maddening, my lord?"  Lord Mansfield quotes a Latin proverb, illustrating his desire to do right, no matter the consequences: "Let justice be done, though the heavens may fall."  Davinier summarizes aloud the details of the case:  the captain of a slave ship ordered the deliberate drowning of 132 slaves, supposedly due to insufficient water to keep both the crew and the "cargo" alive.  Lord Mansfield tells Davinier that his judicial decision will hinge on whether or not the destruction of the "cargo" was an absolute necessity.  Davinier, appalled: "With due respect...I should question whether human life should be insurable as cargo at all."  Lord Mansfield is silent.

Lord Mansfield is at a gathering of judges and lawyers, preparing to give his final decision on the infamous slave ship case.  He overhears a conversation between Davinier and his colleagues.  Davinier is passionately arguing that the law should protect morality: "Religion cannot be the only guardian of our morality.  Does the law not have a duty?  Does the Bench and Parliament not have a duty to uphold and create laws that progress our morality, not retard it?  If not to protect us from others, then to protect us from ourselves.  Laws that allow us to diminish the humanity of anybody are not laws.  They are frameworks for crime!  And, quite frankly, I do not care if you as an individual are without character or conscience.  But a land whose laws sanction, not control, the barbarous among its citizens, that is the country whose hope is lost!"
