ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Clarence

Mary is chained to the city wall.  Her face and body are bloodied and the cobblestones beneath her feet are spotted with red.  She screams at her captors.  A crowd of people stand before her, staring at her with eyes of hate.  Elijah runs up to his friend and shields her from the mob: "What is this?"  Jezebel: "That whore sexes with Roman scum!"  Mary screams: "Liar!"  As one, the people throw back their cloaks, revealing bags of stones hanging from their shoulders.  They begin to throw the stones at Mary.  Because Elijah is now shielding her, they mostly hit him.  Suddenly, a strange Man approaches, holding up a hand.  As soon as His hand is up, the rocks stop in mid-air and hover there.  The crowd looks to the Man in surprise.  He slowly lowers His hand and the rocks drop to the ground.  He speaks something in Aramaic.  Man: "Why do you people condemn this woman and man to death?"  Jezebel repeats her accusation.  Man: "And you deem this to be a sin?"  Woman: "Yes."  Man: "Then, let he who is without sin cast the first stone."  Jezebel's husband: "Who are You to come forward?"  The Man lowers his hood, revealing Himself to be Jesus: "I am He who exists from the Undivided."  The crowd is silenced.

A filthy beggar stands in the road, reaching out a shaking hand: "Can you spare us some coin?  So as I may get some foods, warmth and shelter.  Anything you can spare will be appreciated."  But, instead of help, he is almost trampled by a pair of horses.  The driver yells at him: "Out of the way, you dusty runt!"  In his rush to move, the beggar instead falls to the ground directly in front of the horses.  The man continues to yell at him.  Elijah, urging the driver: "Run him over!"  Clarence: "What?"  Elijah, furiously: "Run him over!"  Clarence: "I can't just run him over!"  Elijah: "You can!  Quick!"  Clarence: "All right, I'll run him over!"  The horses rear and the beggar rolls out from under their feet just in time to save himself from being crushed.


Clarence has set himself up as the latest messiah in order to become rich and powerful.  His first sermon is to a crowd of four people and a goat, and he preaches that knowledge is better than belief.  Clarence: "Belief will be the undoing of all mankind.  Knowledge is stronger than belief."  Though his crowds are small in the beginning, his "miracles" are the big draw.  While the song, "I Believe in Miracles" plays in the background, Clarence pretends to heal his friend Elijah, who plays the blind man, the crippled man, and the dead man alternately in different towns and villages.  Clarence removes the bandages from Elijah's crossed eyes and Elijah makes a big show of being supposedly healed: "I can see!  I can see!"  The crowd exclaims in wonder.  In another town, Elijah drops his crutches: "I can walk!  I can walk!"  After each performance, they pass the offering plate, encouraging people to give them their money.  After one such offering, a genuinely crippled man approaches: "Please, heal me next."  Clarence: "Oh, the Lord can only commit to one miracle a day, my friend.  Sorry."  The money is pouring in and soon the men have a small fortune in coins.


Pilate has taken Clarence captive as part of an order from Rome to capture all "messiahs."  (Clarence had been pretending to be the Messiah, see clip # CV11806.)  While the centurions drag him to the drowning tank, Clarence yells: "I'm not the Messiah!"  But Pilate is determined to make a point with his death anyway.  Pilate addresses the crowd: "My problem is that I don't believe in your God.  I do believe, however, that you people should be allowed to see for yourselves.  See that there is no Messiah, that there is no Savior, and that your God is a myth!  A product only of your denial of the fact that all of your lives, your miserable little lives, belong to Rome!"  Pilate orders Clarence to prove there is a God by walking on water.  Pilate: "If you manage it, I'll be the first Roman to join the church of Clarence."  Clarence protests that he can't even swim, much less walk on water.  But Pilate insists and the centurions are there to enforce it.  Pilate: "Once you die from drowning, you'll be free to go.  Proceed."  Clarence looks out at his family, telling them not to cry.  Tears running down his face, he takes a shaky step onto the water and...walks.  No one is more surprised than Clarence when the man achieves the feat.  Laughing unbelievably, he walks to the middle of the pool.  God has chosen to prove His existence through Clarence.  A furious Pilate orders the guards to take him, but when they step into the pool, they immediately sink.  


Clarence has come to the river to be baptized by John the Baptist. He has no desire to follow Christ.  He doesn't even believe in Christ.  But he thinks being a disciple will give him protection against the village warlord.  Unfortunately for Clarence, John knows exactly what he is doing.  John, putting a hand over Clarence: "Repent!  The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!  Everyone is welcome!  Except you."  Clarence, feigning humility: "But am I not a child of the Lord?"  John: "You highfalutin' nincompoop."  He tells Clarence he is aware of his motives.  John: "So, Clarence, you now believe in Jesus?"  Clarence looks shifty: "Yes.  Basically."  John slaps him across the face: "Liar!"  Clarence: "I heard that you baptized Jesus Himself.  What makes Him more worthy than I?"  John slaps him again: "Blasphemous swine!"  John tells Clarence that he is not a believer and refuses to baptize him.  Clarence starts to protest: "If God exists - -"  John puts his hand over Clarence's mouth and begins to pray loudly for God to save him from himself.  He asks God to kick him out of heaven so "he shall forever know what he is missing because he did not know the depth of his own idiocy to not repent."

Asher is forcing Clarence to battle Barabbas, an enormous professional gladiator.  Clarence, an average-sized, unemployed, small-time criminal, has nothing in his favor except his wits.  He punches Barabbas directly in the face several times in succession.  The man merely smiles at him.  Elijah, watching from outside the arena: "That's a hard face!"  Barabbas sends Clarence flying to the fence with one punch.  Clarence sees a large net on the ground.  He grabs it and twists it into a whip, striking a number of mean blows to the giant.  But Barabbas's superior strength wins again when he grabs the end of the net and pulls Clarence towards him.  Clarence tries somewhat pitifully to strangle Barabbas with the net, but Barabbas merely looks back at him dismissively: "You finished?"  Clarence drops the net.  With one meaty fist, Barabbas grabs Clarence by the throat.  Clarence tries to strike him but only succeeds in hurting his own hand.  Barabbas slaps Clarence so hard his head rings like a bell.  The dazed Clarence picks up a sword, but he can barely see straight and Barabbas soon cuts his sword in half with one strike.  Clarence is stunned, lying on the ground between his two pieces of blade.  Asher: "Let's finish him."  Barabbas smiles, picking up a net to throw over Clarence.  Clarence, using what little wits he has left, grabs a piece of blade and catches the sunlight, shining it directly into Barabbas's eyes.  Momentarily blinded, Barabbas's kill shot completely misses Clarence, who has snuck around to his other side.  Clarence holds the other piece of blade against Barabbas's throat, showing the man he is bested.  Barabbas smiles: "You're good."


Clarence and Elijah have come to Asher's compound at the direction of the disciples, in order to free Asher's slaves.  Clarence looks with horror at the men who are being trained to fight to their deaths as gladiators.  Clarence: "These men are all slaves.  How is this even possible?  How was it allowed?"  Asher moves among the slaves, teaching them to strike to kill.  He sees Clarence and approaches them.  Clarence tells him they've been sent by Jesus to free his slaves.  Asher: "Do you have any idea how much that will cost me?"  Clarence: "Yes, I know.  But you'd be able to free your conscience.  I know this must trouble you, brother."  Asher, still astounded: "Twenty slaves.  Do you have that amount?"  Clarence: "No.  The idea is that you give them to us for free, and that you free up your own mind of all these horrors.  Does that make sense?"  Asher turns to his men, ordering them to stop their labors.  Clarence, in an under voice to Elijah: "That was easy."  Asher, still yelling to his men: "I shall grant you all your freedom right now if you beat these two men to death with your bare hands!"  Clarence now knows Asher cares nothing for his conscience.


Clarence is dead, lying under a shroud in a tomb carved in the rock.  Jesus walks up to the stone in front of the door and places a hand on it.  The stone crumbles away.  Jesus enters the tomb and removes the shroud from Clarence's face.  He places His hand on the dead man: "Rise, Clarence, son of Amina."  Clarence opens his eyes and sits up, looking in shock at Jesus.  Jesus, smiling at him: 'You were a man of no faith, yet freed the slaves at your own peril.  You did not believe in Me, then came to know I am the resurrection and I am the life.  The one who believes in Me will live even though they die."  Clarence, awestruck: "My Lord."  Jesus leaves the tomb.  Clarence looks down at his hands, seeing the wounds from the crucifixion.  Suddenly, they are healed.  Clarence has been reborn.


It is the Last Supper and Jesus tells His disciples that He is about to be betrayed: "One of you Negroes is a canary.  An information-revealer."  Jesus tells them that the one who dips the bread into the gravy is the guilty one.  The disciples immediately begin to speculate and accuse one another.  Time freezes, leaving only Jesus and Judas "awake."  Judas is struggling against his own hand.  Seemingly of its own volition, Judas's hand is reaching for the bread.  While he fights himself, we see him in the past, in another fight with himself.  He is deciding whether or not to betray Jesus.  Judas 1:"We must love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us."  Judas 2: "This is not our cause!  We are revolutionaries, not pacifists!"  Back at the supper, Jesus watches Judas struggle.  Jesus: "Your will is at battle with your conscience.  The sin in you does not want you to consume the bread, while the good in you wants to confess."  That battle is mirrored in the past where Judas 2 says: "You have become soft, Jesus!"  Judas 1: "Listen to me, I am..."  He trails off when a centurion approaches him with a bag of money.  Back at the supper, Judas eats the bread despite himself.  In the past, Judas reaches for the money bag and takes it.  Once Judas eats, he appears to relish it.  He looks at the other disciples, who come awake: "This does not mean I betrayed anyone."


Clarence and Elijah are in a chariot race with Mary Magdalene.  They are so certain of their victory they are already mentally spending their money.  The chariots are neck-and-neck.  But, as they enter the Gypsy quarter, they are attacked by Cabbage and his gang.  First, the boys shoot drugged darts at them.  Clarence is shot in the neck and falls from the chariot.  Elijah is left to finish the race alone.  He loses grip of the reins and the horses are now running without a driver.  Next, another of Cabbage's goons throws a rock and knocks Elijah off his perch.  He hangs off the back of the chariot, his head nearly scraping the earth.  Finally, the horses run into a ladder and Elijah is too is thrown to the ground.  Mary wins.


Jesus is walking with Mary Magdalene when a beggar named Benjamin asks them for money.  The man is filthy, covered in dirty rags.  His face is so grimy it is almost black, and his hair and beard are matted.  Jesus touches his hand and coins begin to flow from it.  Then, He touches his back and instantly Benjamin is healed from his infirmities.  He looks at Jesus, tears in his eyes.  Jesus: "Peace be unto you."  Benjamin: "And also to You."  Immediately, the man goes to the beauty parlor.   Benjamin, to the women who work there: "I wish to be made clean."  At first they are repulsed, but the sight of his shekels makes them forget their disgust.  Talitha: "We can rebuild him."  The ladies get to work.  They bathe and buff and comb and exfoliate.  Soon, Benjamin walks back into the reception room, a new man.  Jaws drop.  Someone breaks a glass.  Regal music swells in the background as light from the window almost causes him to shine.  All eyes are drawn to him.  Talitha: "He looks just like Jesus."  Varinia: "You haven't even seen Jesus."  (Jesus in this film is a black man who looks nothing like Benjamin.)  But Benjamin now fits their idea of what the Messiah would look like.  Talitha: "His essence.  Look at Him.  Pure and white.  So trustworthy."  Talitha forgets her earlier disdain completely.  Someone hands Benjamin a mirror and even he is enamored.  He walks down the street a new man.  Instead of being ignored and reviled, people reach out to touch him, considering themselves blessed just to see him.  He flashes his newly-pearly whites and liberally hands out shekels.

Clarence has come to Mary's house to try to find out the secret to Jesus's magnetism.  As Mary hands him a hot drink, he asks her how He does all His "tricks."  Mary: "What tricks?"  Clarence: "You know, healing people, raising people from the dead, walking on water, things like that.  His tricks."  Mary, indignant: "My Son has never performed a trick in His life!  The people call them miracles, you know.  It's just so you know His Father is real."  Clarence points in confusion at the old carpenter standing in the back of the room.  Joseph shakes his head: "God."  Clarence: "Okay, I just want to know how He does all His illusions."  Joseph, sighing: "Young man, if you were a tool in my carpenter's box, you wouldn't be the sharpest."  Mary agrees: "The light in his head burns a little dim."  Clarence tells Mary he doesn't believe in God and doesn't want to hear any more lies.  Mary: "None of them were untruths, my child."  Clarence: "Right.  And you were a virgin when you found out you were carrying child?"  Mary slaps him for his sarcasm, assuring Clarence that God is Jesus's Father: "I was minding my own virgin business, just being a virgin, and an angel called Gabriel came upon me."  She continues telling Clarence about the angel's visit and his words, both to herself and to Joseph.  When she is finished, Clarence laughs: "This is the story you're running with?"  Mary: "It is the only story there is."

Clarence greets his brother, Thomas, who is one of Jesus's disciples.  Thomas gives him the barest of civility and then asks him to leave.  Thomas: "Get away from me, disbeliever."  Clarence: "I believe.  I believe in life itself.  You pray to a man in the sky you've never even met."  Thomas: "Blasphemy."  Clarence: "Well, introduce me to Him then.  Jesus.  Let's see one of His miracles up close and personal."  Thomas: "So that He may know that my twin brother is a man of no faith?  A peddler of stolen property?  A seller of ungodly herbs?  A nobody."  At the hurtful words from his very own flesh and blood, Clarence is struck to the core.  The camera closes in on his brimming eyes and a whispering voice repeats the words, "A nobody...a nobody."  Clarence: "I'm not a nobody!"  Thomas: "A man that lacks honor is a nobody."  He walks away.  Clarence fights back his tears.  Elijah tries to comfort him: "Just because you are twins does not mean you're brothers, my brother."
