ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

Santa has just returned to the North Pole after delivering the presents on Christmas Eve.  The elves are celebrating the completion of a year's worth of hard work.  They toast each other, dancing and cheering around the toy factory.  After a few seconds of merriment, Santa calms down the crowd.  Santa: "All right, all right.  We've had another very successful year."  The elves cheer.  Santa continues: "So, after all that hard work, it's time to start preparations for next Christmas!"  The elves cheer again, immediately resuming their work.

Papa Elf has decided it's time to make his son Buddy his apprentice.  He takes him to the building where Santa's sleigh is stored.  Papa Elf: "You're gonna help me make it fly."  Buddy: "I thought the magical reindeer made the sleigh fly."  Papa Elf: "And where do the reindeer get their magic from?"  Buddy: "Christmas spirit.  Everybody knows that."  Papa Elf: "Well, as silly as it sounds, a lot of people down south don't believe in Santa Claus."  Buddy is astounded: "Who do they think puts all their toys under the tree?"  Papa Elf: "Well, there's a rumor floating around that the parents do it."  Buddy: "That's ridiculous!  I mean, parents couldn't do that all in one night.  What about Santa's cookies?  I suppose parents eat them too?"  Papa Elf: "Every year, less and less people believe in Santa Claus.  We have a real energy crisis on our hands."  Papa Elf had to design a 500-reindeer-powered engine in the 1960s to even get the sled off the ground.

Being a human in an elf's world is hard for Buddy.  Although the others accept him, he constantly feels like he isn't good enough.  Buddy is working in Santa's toy shop, trying frantically to keep up with the other elves.  He looks guiltily over his shoulder as his supervisor, Ming Ming, comes to check on Buddy's work.  Ming Ming asks Buddy how many toys he's made for the day.  Buddy, embarrassed, tells him he's made 85.  The other elves drop their tools in shock.  Ming Ming looks at his record, telling Buddy he's 915 toys off the pace of the rest.  Buddy, discouraged: "Why don't you just say it?  I'm the worst toy maker in the world.  I'm a cotton-headed ninnymuggins."  The other elves try to encourage Buddy.  Ming Ming: "We all just have different talents, that's all."  Buddy: "It seems like everyone else has the same talents, except for me."  The elves all throw out examples of Buddy's talents, mildly encouraging him.  Ming Ming: "See, Buddy.  You're not a cotton-headed ninnymuggins.  You're just...special."  Buddy's face falls, not wanting to be different from the rest.

Santa and the elves have gathered to send Buddy off on a trip to meet his birth father.  Buddy expresses his joy in getting to spend time with his dad.  Santa hesitates, feeling there's something Buddy should know: "You know, Buddy...your father...well, he's on the naughty list."  Buddy screams in horror.  Back in New York City, Buddy's father is sitting at his desk, speaking to a distraught nun.  The nun is begging Buddy's father not to repossess the books she bought for the orphanage.  Buddy's father accuses her of trying to make him feel guilty.  Nun: "But the children love the books!"  Buddy's father is unmoved, only concerned with the fact that the nun has missed a payment.  Santa tries to console Buddy: "Listen, some people, they just lose sight of what's important in life.  That doesn't mean they can't find their way again.  Maybe all they need is just a little Christmas spirit."

Buddy has come to meet his birth father for the first time.  Arriving at his father's work dressed in an elf costume (Buddy is from the North Pole and has lived as an elf his entire life), he asks to see Walter Hobbs.  Walter's secretary assumes from Buddy's clothing that he's been hired to sing Walter a Christmas-gram.  Buddy enters Walter's office, joyfully yelling: "Dad!"  Walter snickers a little at Buddy's yellow tights and tells him to get on with it.  Meanwhile, half the office has gathered at Walter's door to watch Buddy's performance.  Buddy, confused: "Go on with what?"  Walter: "Well, aren't you going to sing a song or something, or can I just go back to work?"  Buddy, unfamiliar with ways outside the North Pole, takes this request in stride and complies.  Buddy, very off-key: ♪ "I'm here, with my dad, and we never met.  And he wants me to sing him a song.  And, um, I was adopted, but you didn't know I was born.  So I'm here now, I found you, Daddy.  And, guess what?  I love you.  I love you.  I love you!"  ♪  Buddy then tells Walter the origins of his birth, including the name of his mother.  Walter is startled to hear the familiar name, but still writes Buddy off as psychotic and has him thrown out of the building.

Buddy the elf, fresh from the North Pole, has been looking forward to Santa's upcoming visit to the mall store where he works.  On the happy day, Buddy rushes past the crowd of screaming children to greet his old friend.  On reaching the stage, however, he is disturbed to find a man he doesn't recognize.  Buddy: "Who the heck are you?"  Mall Santa: "I'm Santa Claus."  Buddy: "No, you're not."  The hired mall Santa tries to keep up his image, already bouncing a young boy on his knee.  Buddy, however, is not to be deterred from discovering the identity of the strange man in red.  Buddy: "Well, if you're Santa, what song did I sing for you on your birthday this year?"  The mall Santa correctly guesses "Happy Birthday" and Buddy is disappointed to find his trap failed.  But Buddy still doesn't give up his quest for the truth.  Buddy leans forward to speak to the boy on Santa's lap: "Don't tell him what you want.  He's a liar."  Buddy, to mall Santa: "You disgust me.  How can you live with yourself?"  Mall Santa: "Just cool it, Zippy!"  Buddy: "You sit on a throne of lies."  Mall Santa is getting angrier and angrier.  Buddy: "You're a fake!"  Finally, Santa threatens Buddy physically.  Buddy, sniffing him: "You stink.  You smell like beef and cheese.  You don't smell like Santa."  Buddy pulls on the man's beard and it comes off.  The children all scream.  Mall Santa tackles Buddy and the two engage in an all-out brawl in the toy store.

Buddy (a thirty-year-old elf) and his young brother, Michael, are hanging out at the mall together.  Buddy brings Michael to the store where he used to work.  Michael sees Buddy staring at a pretty girl in an elf costume and correctly assumes that Buddy has a crush on her.  Michael: "Why don't you ask her out?"  Buddy, having lived his life in the North Pole, is confused: "Out?"  Michael: "You know, on a date...to eat food?"  Buddy: "Food?"  Michael: "If she says yes, you're in.  It's like a secret code girls have."  Jovie, the girl Buddy is interested in, has noticed she's being stared at and walks up to Buddy.  Jovie looks awkwardly at Michael, who is smiling broadly at her.  Buddy: "I really wanted to see you, and - - and I think you're really beautiful.  And...I feel really warm when I'm around you.  And, um, my tongue swells up."  Jovie, embarrassed, tries not to laugh.  Buddy: "So...do you want to go eat food?"  Jovie: "Do I want to eat food?"  Buddy: "Mmm hmm.  You know, uh, the code...food."  Buddy winks knowingly at her.  Jovie looks at Michael, who nods his approval.  Jovie tells Buddy she's free on Thursday and Michael drags Buddy away for a smooth exit before Buddy explodes with excitement.

Walter is in an important meeting at work on Christmas Eve.  His younger son, Michael, bursts into the conference room in the middle of his presentation to tell him that his older son, Buddy, has run away.  Walter tells Michael that as soon as he is finished with the meeting, they'll look for Buddy.  Michael is disappointed in his workaholic father: "Buddy cares about everybody.  All you care about is yourself."  Michael's words hit Walter hard.  He turns to his boss and tells him they'll have to reschedule the meeting.  His boss refuses, saying he flew in just for this meeting.  Walter is firm, telling his boss the meeting will have to wait.  Walter's boss tells him that he will lose his job if he doesn't finish the meeting.  Walter looks over at Michael, who is watching him hopefully.  Walter turns back to his boss and quits his job.  He and Michael walk out of the office, their arms around one another.  (Caution: "d--n" used once as profanity, "up yours" said twice at end of Scene)

Michael is trying to help Santa get his sleigh off the ground.  He runs up to a news crew filming just outside Central Park, carrying Santa's naughty and nice list.  (The crew is filming because there have been several "Santa sightings" in the park, but most people are obviously doubtful.)  Michael, speaking to Charlotte, a television reporter: "It's him!  It's the real Santa.  His sleigh won't fly because nobody believes in him."  Michael tells the camera that he can prove Santa's existence because he has the naughty and nice list.  Michael begins to read aloud, picking names at random.  Across the city, people listening to the newscast hear their own names read, along with an accurate listing of their secret gift desires.  Charlotte is still obviously skeptical and is slightly mocking with Michael.  Michael asks her her name and opens the book to her gift wish.  Michael, reading aloud: "Charlotte Denon wants a Tiffany engagement ring and for her boyfriend to stop dragging his feet and commit already."  Charlotte's mouth drops and the crowd around her snickers.  Back at Santa's sleigh, the Christmas spirit meter soars and Santa yells: "We've got power!"
