ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Bilbo recalls a great city from long ago whose secret to prosperity was largely due to the fact that it rested so close to the powerful Dwarf kingdom of Erebor.  The king of Erebor, confident in his state of security, had great wealth and a son and grandson to control the kingdom after him.  "Thror ruled with utter surety, never doubting his house would endure."  The beauty and wealth of Erebor was famous around Middle Earth, and Thror began to be consumed by a feeling of omnipotence.  Drunk with power and convinced his rule was divine, he demanded allegiance from all other kingdoms.  "But the years of peace and plenty were not to last."  Thror stands in his treasure room, worshipfully gazing at his piles of gold and jewels.  Bilbo: "Thror's love of gold had grown too fierce.  A sickness had begun to grow within him.  It was a sickness of the mind.  And where sickness thrives, bad things will follow."

Gandalf approaches Bilbo, standing directly in front of the Hobbit.  Bilbo stares at the tall wizard for a moment, waiting for him to speak.  When he doesn't, Bilbo, slightly uncomfortable, breaks the silence with a standard greeting: "Good morning."  Gandalf, bluntly: "What do you mean?  Do you mean to wish me a good morning, or do you mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not?"  Bilbo stares, open-mouthed.  Gandalf, continuing: "Or perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning?  Or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on?"  Bilbo, who had given little thought to his simple greeting: "All of them at once, I suppose."

Gandalf stares deeply at Bilbo, sizing him up.  Bilbo: "Can I help you?"  Gandalf: "That remains to be seen.  I'm looking for someone to share in an adventure."  Bilbo scowls at Gandalf: "An adventure?  Now, I don't imagine anyone west of Bree would have much interest in adventures."  Bilbo, stepping away from Gandalf: "Nasty, disturbing, uncomfortable things.  Make you late for dinner."  Bilbo checks his mail, then begins to retreat back toward his comfortable house.  Gandalf, however, won't let him escape so easily.  He reveals his identity, reminding Bilbo of his slightly more adventurous past: "You've changed, and not entirely for the better, Bilbo Baggins."  Gandalf nods to himself, deciding to include Bilbo in his adventure: "It will be very good for you, and most amusing for me."  Bilbo, mounting the steps to his house: "No.  No.  No, wait.  We do not want any adventures here, thank you.  Not today.  I suggest you try Over the Hill or Across the Water."  With a hurried goodbye, Bilbo enters his house, locking the door behind him.

With a sigh of satisfaction, Bilbo sits down to enjoy his evening meal in silence and solitude.  Just as he is squirting lemon on his fish, his doorbell rings.  He goes to the door, where a strange Dwarf introduces himself as Dwalin.  As Dwalin steps past Bilbo to enter the house, Bilbo asks, confusedly: "Do we know each other?"  Dwalin: "No."  He makes his way to the dining room, asking for some supper.  A little later, Bilbo watches morosely as Dwalin consumes his fish dinner and asks for more.  Bilbo reluctantly hands him a plate of biscuits: "Hmmm.  It's just that, um, I wasn't expecting company."  Just then, the doorbell rings.  Bilbo answers the door, finding another Dwarf, who introduces himself as Balin.  Balin walks into the house, uninvited, and warmly greets Dwalin.  The two take inventory of Bilbo's larder, completely ignoring their reluctant host.  Bilbo, virtually talking to himself: "It's not that I don't like visitors.  I like visitors as much as the next Hobbit.  But I do like to know them before they come visiting."  The Dwarves pour themselves drinks, continuing to ignore Bilbo, who is called away again to answer the door.  He whimpers in frustration as he sees two more Dwarves standing on his doorstep.  This time, Bilbo tries to refuse them entry.  The Dwarves push forward as Bilbo tries to close the door: "Has it been cancelled?  No one told us."  Bilbo, confused: "No, nothing's been cancelled."  With relief, the two Dwarves push past Bilbo and enter the house to join their friends.

Gandalf and the Dwarves are discussing the formidable task they have of redeeming the Dwarf kingdom from the terrible dragon, Smaug.  Gandalf has determined that a skilled, courageous burglar will be needed to get them into the mountain kingdom.  He looks pointedly at Bilbo, who looks blankly back at him.  Thorin asks Bilbo if he is an expert burglar.  Bilbo, unwilling to join this adventure, denies any knowledge or skills pertaining to burgling.  The Dwarves begin to argue over whether or not Bilbo is an appropriate choice, most seeming to agree with Bilbo that he is much too small and weak to join their battle.  Gandalf, who has chosen Bilbo specifically for the task, stands and speaks commandingly to the group: "Enough!  If I say Bilbo Baggins is a burglar, then a burglar he is!"  The Dwarves are silenced by the power behind Gandalf's words.  Gandalf continues, in a more normal voice, to describe the reasons why Bilbo is gifted for the task: "Hobbits are remarkably light on their feet.  In fact, they can pass unseen by most, if they choose.  And, while the dragon is accustomed to the smell of Dwarf, the scent of a Hobbit is all but unknown to him, which gives us a distinct advantage.  You asked me to find the 14th member of this company, and I have chosen Mr. Baggins.  There's a lot more to him than appearances suggest.  And he's got a great deal more to offer than any of you know.  Including himself.  You must trust me on this."

Bilbo is reading aloud the contract that the Dwarves have drawn up for his role as burglar in their dangerous mission.  Bilbo, becoming more frightened as he reads each possible form of painful death: "Present company shall not be liable for injuries inflicted by or sustained as a consequence thereof, including, but not limited to...lacerations...evisceration...incineration!"  After Bofur cheerfully confirms the dangers of facing the terrible dragon Smaug, Bilbo is overcome with fear, and faints.  A little later, he is sitting with a cup of tea in front of the fire, recovering his composure: "Just let me sit quietly for a moment."  Gandalf, disgusted by Bilbo's comfortable, self-serving life: "You've been sitting quietly for far too long.  Tell me, when did doilies and your mother's dishes become so important to you?"  Gandalf fondly remembers a younger Bilbo, who was more interested in living life than resting comfortably: "A young Hobbit who would have liked nothing better than to find out what was beyond the borders of the Shire.  The world is not in your books and maps.  It's out there."  When Bilbo protests leaving his ancestral home, Gandalf reminds him of his ancestor who bravely faced the Goblin Wars and helped to win the battle.  Gandalf smiles at Bilbo: "You'll have a tale or two to tell of your own when you come back."  Bilbo: "Can you promise that I will come back?"  Gandalf, solemnly: "No.  And, if you do, you will not be the same."  Bilbo, standing to leave: "That's what I thought.  Sorry, Gandalf.  I can't sign this.  You've got the wrong Hobbit."

Balin and Thorin watch, disappointed, as Bilbo walks away from their proposed mission (see Scene # CV06184).  Balin, sighing in defeat: "Probably for the best.  The odds were always against us.  After all, what are we?  Merchants, miners, tinkers, toy-makers.  Hardly the stuff of legend."  Thorin proclaims himself satisfied by his loyal band of followers: "I would take each and every one of these Dwarves over an army from the Iron Hills.  For when I called upon them, they answered.  Loyalty, honor, a willing heart...I can ask no more than that."

Gandalf is being questioned by his mentor, Saruman, as to the wisdom of involving himself in the Dwarf mission to conquer the dragon Smaug.  Gandalf admits that he's concerned that the dragon could make a powerful tool if sided with the enemy forces of evil that still exist in Middle Earth.  Saruman: "What enemy?  Gandalf, the enemy is defeated."  Elrond agrees with Saruman: "Gandalf, for 400 years we have lived in peace...a hard-won, watchful peace."  Gandalf is not so naive: "Are we?  Are we at peace?"  Gandalf lists examples of the growing evil in the land.  Elrond scoffs: "Hardly a prelude to war."  Saruman writes Gandalf off as merely a trouble-maker: "Always you must meddle, looking for trouble where none exists."  Galadriel wants to hear Gandalf's observations.  Gandalf believes a greater evil exists behind the scenes.  An evil that will spread if not checked by their efforts.  Gandalf: "We can remain blind to it, but it will not be ignoring us, that I can promise you."

Galadriel and Gandalf have just been discussing the formidable task Gandalf has in battling the dragon, Smaug.  She is curious as to why Gandalf chose the small Hobbit, Bilbo, to accompany him on the dangerous journey.  Gandalf, reflecting: "I do not know.  Saruman believes that it is only great power that can hold evil in check.  But that is not what I have found.  I have found it is the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk, that keeps the darkness at bay.  Simple acts of kindness and love.  Why Bilbo Baggins?  Perhaps it is because I am afraid, and he gives me courage."

Gollum is guarding the exit of the Goblin cave, watching for Bilbo so he can kill and eat him.  Bilbo, knowing the ring has made him invisible to Gollum, walks right up to him and draws his sword, preparing to strike down the wicked creature.  As Bilbo is just about to swing, Gollum turns around, staring blankly around the cave.  Bilbo looks into Gollum's eyes and sees fear and sadness there.  He lowers his sword slowly, sighing, taking pity on the poor, lost creature.  Instead of killing him, he leaps over him to escape from the cave.  Gollum screams in anger, knowing that he has lost his quarry.

Thorin and his men are trapped in a leaning tree, corned by the evil Azog and his band of Orcs.  As the Dwarves hang precariously over the precipice, Azog growls in pleasure, anticipating the death of his enemies.  Thorin looks at the evil creature and is suddenly filled with courage.  He walks down the now almost horizontal tree, straight toward the vicious Orcs.  He stares unflinchingly into Azog's cruel eyes, and Azog looks briefly fearful in the face of Thorin's determination.  Bilbo, Gandalf, and the Dwarves watch in fear as Thorin marches toward almost certain death.  Thorin lunges at Azog, who strikes him down again and again.  Finally, Thorin lies still on the ground, unconscious.  Azog orders his head to be cut off.  Bilbo, inspired by Thorin's courage, runs down from the tree and tackles the Orc about to decapitate Thorin.  Killing him, Bilbo then stands to face the mob of Orcs alone.  Guarding Thorin's still body, he slashes out aimlessly with his sword, helplessly trying to ward off the coming attack.  Suddenly, the Dwarves attack the Orcs, joining Bilbo in his fight to save Thorin.
