ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

Joy is showing her sister, Peggy, the paper kingdom she has created.  As she pulls out the pieces, she tells Peggy the stories she imagines with her paper characters.  She herself is the heroine of all of the sagas.  Joy: "I conquered a wolf and other scary things..."  When Joy incorporates a prince into her story, it is as a friendly benefactor, rather than a romantic lead.  She dreams instead of making things for the prince and his bride.  Peggy isn't satisfied by this dream: "You need a handsome prince.  That's what you need.  A prince."  Joy, her eyes full of dreams of her inventions: "No, I don't need a prince.  This is a special power.  I don't need a prince."

After putting her children to bed, Joy falls asleep with a TV soap opera playing in the background.  In her dream, the most difficult time of her childhood is inserted into the melodrama playing out onscreen.  The soap opera stars morph into her family members.  Her father, ex-husband, and rival step-sister chloroform her and force her to attend a funeral.  When she arrives at the funeral, she discovers that the deceased is herself as a young girl and the loss is of her own childhood.  A huge picture of her eight-year-old self is wreathed with flowers and standing before a stage.  The mourners fill the pews as a child's voice sounds over the PA system: "We are here today to remember what was lost seventeen years ago.  Do you remember?"  Adult Joy stares at the photo and remembers back to the day when her life crumbled apart.  She and her half-sister were in their bedroom, playing with the paper fairyland Joy had made.  Suddenly, their parents storm into the room, already in the midst of a discussion.  On the brink of divorce, they are dividing up their possessions and have arrived at the category "children."  Rudy: "Peggy comes with me.  Joy spends half the time with us."  Peggy is in tears.  When Rudy picks up Joy's paper fairyland to take it with him, Terry protests.  With their daughters watching, the two fight over the paper palace until it is torn into pieces.  Joy looks at the pieces on the ground and begins to cry.

It is her wedding day and Joy is standing in the church foyer with her father, waiting to walk down the aisle.  As he looks at his daughter in her beautiful white dress, Rudy is moved to say: "You're so smart, you're so beautiful, I just - - you could have married anybody.  You could have married a doctor, a lawyer, a nice man instead of this...I don't know what to call this guy."  Joy sighs in exasperation, a bouquet of yellow flowers in her hand: "Are you seriously talking about this right now?"  Rudy lifts her veil down in front of her face, clicking his tongue: "It's still not too late."  Peggy walks in, telling the two it is time to enter the sanctuary.  As they walk toward the door that will take Joy to her future husband, Rudy fires a final shot: "Think about it."  Joy grabs her father's arm and pulls him toward the ceremony: "Dad!"

Joy has brought her prototype to her father's office to ask Trudy to invest in it.  Trudy, a hard-headed business woman, looks Joy in the eye: "Morris (her deceased husband) worked 50 years for his fortune, Joy.  Before he passed on to the next world, he made me promise, on his deathbed, that I would never be neglectful of one dollar of the money that he so carefully earned.  Therefore, you have to answer Morris's four questions of financial worthiness.  Are you ready?"  Joy: "I think so.  Yes."  Trudy first asks Joy where she went to high school.  Joy answers.  Trudy's second question: "Who were you in high school?"  Joy: "I was valedictorian."  Trudy: "The smartest student in the school."  Rudy: "That's good, right?"  Trudy: "Perhaps.  Joy might be a brilliant, unrealized creator of commerce.  But, on the other hand, it is equally possible that she is a fatally flawed underachiever doomed to a lifetime of failure, disappointment, unfulfilled expectations."  She looks intently at Joy: "You must admit, Joy, that your life, to date, makes a stronger case for...disappointment."

Trudy has told Joy she must answer four questions before she will agree to invest in her invention.  (See scene #CV08854)  They are now down to the fourth question: "You are in a room and there is a gun on the table.  And the only other person in the room is an adversary in commerce.  Only one of you can prevail.  Do you pick up the gun, Joy?"  Joy: "That's a very strange question."  Trudy, her eyes glittering intensely as she carefully enunciates her words for effect: "There is nothing strange about this question at all.  This - - is - - money."  She steps forward to stand directly in front of Joy: "Do you pick up the gun?"  Joy, as a steely look comes over her face: "I pick up the gun."  Trudy: "Good.  I will remember you said that when I speak to my lawyer."

Neil has brought Joy to the QVC studio to watch the actors sell their merchandise on live television.  Joan Rivers and Cindy are busy hawking a flashy necklace.  The two ladies sit in a living room-like set, chatting about the dazzling attributes of the necklace.  Rows of employees sit with telephones, waiting for the orders to come in.  Neil: "Now, watch this.  Cindy's gonna lay this down right...now."  Cindy, pointing a lacquered nail at the cameras, commandingly: "You need this!  You can get this.  You need to call right now, though.  I'm being told we have limited quantity left."  Offstage, near Neil and Joy, the phones begin ringing incessantly as the audience responds to Cindy's pitch.  All over the country, thousands of viewers feel their need for the beaded jewelry.  Neil walks Joy along the rows of phones and computers: "Here they come.  Calls.  Calls.  Calls.  Calls."  Neil points out an electronic reader board on the wall, and Joy sees that, in a matter of moments, sales have climbed to almost 20,000 units.  The sales continue to climb and Neil chants in the background: "Yes!  Yes!  Yes!"  The ladies, meanwhile, have never stopped their pitch: "You need to call now.  Get one for your mother.  Get one for your sister..."  Joy is astounded when the sales reach 25,000: "Wow."

Neil is overseeing Joy's preparation for her first televised sales pitch.  He supervises the styling of her hair and makeup and chooses her wardrobe.  Beauticians and stylists work on Joy until her hair is teased, her heels are towering, and her black dress suit is outlining her feminine form to perfection.  She steps out of the dressing room, looking uncomfortable.  Neil, smiling broadly: "Wow.  Beautiful.  What do you think?  How do you feel?"  Joy: "I'd like to change just one thing.  Would you mind?  Small thing."  Neil: "Okay.  Surprise me."  She closes the dressing room door.  She reappears a few moments later wearing the same conservative blouse and pants she wore upon arriving.  Her teased hair has been deflated to a normal size and the chunky gold jewelry has gone the way of the stiletto heels.  Neil, more surprised than pleased: "What?  You undid the whole thing."  Joy, unapologetically: "This is me.  I wear a blouse and I wear pants.  That's who I am.  I wanna go on as me."  Neil, smiling: "Gonna go on as you?  Well, I hope you make it back."  Just then, Joan Rivers walks by and Neil introduces Joy.  Joan looks Joy up and down, then turns to Neil: "She should be in a skirt.  She's got nice long legs.  Show her legs."  She walks away.  Joy, to Neil: "Joan Rivers wants me in a skirt, but I'm gonna do pants."

Joy enters her grandmother's bedroom, hearing that she has died.  With a tear coursing down her cheek, she sits down on the woman's bed and bends over to kiss her goodbye.  Mimi, narrating (presumably from the afterlife): "I so hated to leave her that day.  I had so much I wanted to say to her.  I felt I wanted to stay near her and watch over her."  Later, at the funeral, Joy sits in a chair near Mimi's casket.  A hand silently reaches over to grip her own.  Joy turns to see who is comforting her.  Seated in the chair next to her is Mimi, a sad smile on her face.  A bell chimes and Joy turns away toward the sound.  When she looks back, Mimi is gone and the chair is empty.
