ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Bryan, a law student, has come to the prison to tell Henry that his execution has been postponed for at least a year.  Henry begins to cry, overjoyed that he will be able to spend time with his family: "I didn't want my wife or kids showing up if I had an execution date coming.  Now they can come visit.  Thank you."  Henry embraces Bryan and soon the two young men from similar backgrounds are talking and laughing together.  When they find out they both were involved in church choir, Henry smiles: "God is good."  Bryan, finishing: "All the time.  All the time."  Suddenly, the guard bursts into the room, angry that Bryan has gone beyond his allotted time: "Supposed to watch the clock!"  He yanks Henry out of his chair and throws him against the wall, putting him in handcuffs.  Bryan tries to stop the violence: "Calm down!  He didn't do anything!"  Guard: "You just shut your mouth."  Henry smiles calmly at Bryan: "Don't worry about me.  You just come back."  As the guard continues to put the cuffs on Henry, he stares into Bryan's face and begins to sing a hymn, singing all the way back to his cell on death row: ♪ "I'm pressing on the upward way.  New heights I'm gaining every day.  Still praying as I'm onward bound.  Lord, plant my feet on higher ground." ♪ (Caution: h-word used)


Walter awakens to the sound of Herb sobbing in the next cell.  (Herb is scheduled to be executed the next day for inadvertently killing a woman with a bomb.)  Walter tries to comfort Herb, but he is distraught, terrified, and full of regret: "Why did I make that bomb?  Why did I do that?  I wasn't trying to hurt nobody."  Herb puts his head in his hands: "Why am I so stupid?"  Walter tries to calm Herb, acknowledging that he knows Herb didn't intend to kill the girl with his rash action.  Herb, crying: "She wasn't supposed to come by and pick it up." 


Bryan, Walter's new lawyer, is in Walter's home to interview his family.  He sits at the kitchen table, surrounded by dozens of Walter's friends and family.  As the story unfolds, it becomes more and more amazing to Bryan that Walter was ever convicted of murdering the victim.  During the time of the crime, many of the people in the room were with Walter, helping him to take the transmission out of the truck he supposedly used in his getaway.  Not only that, but the church was having a fundraiser at Walter's house and he was there from morning until night.  Minnie, Walter's wife: "My husband never could've done this."  A man in the room tells Bryan the real reason why Walter was accused.  A few months earlier, he had had an affair with a white woman.  The woman's husband, furious, spread the gossip all around town.  Minnie: "People started talking, and the stories kept growing.  He went from being a cheat, to a drug dealer, to head of the Dixie Mafia.  So, by the time somebody called him a murderer, ain't nobody thought twice about it."

Bryan is testifying before the U.S. Senate after having helped an innocent man escape the death penalty: "Through this work, I've learned that each of us is more than the worst thing that we've ever done."  Beside Bryan sits Walter, the man who spent years on death row for a crime he didn't commit.  Bryan: "The character of our nation isn't reflected in how we treat the rich and the privileged.  But how we treat the poor, the disfavored and condemned.  Our system has taken more away from this innocent man than it has the power to give back.  But I believe, if each of us can follow his lead, we can change this world for the better.  If we can look at ourself closely and honestly, I believe we will see that we all need justice.  We all need mercy.  And, perhaps, we all need some measure of unmerited grace."

The officer begins playing the tune Herb has selected over the prison loudspeakers.  As the words to "The Old Rugged Cross" ring out throughout the prison, Herb is escorted to the death chamber.  In the cells on death row, Herb's friends hear the song and know his death is imminent.  Herb is led to the electric chair.  As he sees it for the first time, fear paralyzes him and his legs momentarily give out.  The officers surrounding him help him into the seat and begin to strap him in.  Herb sits, his fear mounting.  A man asks Herb if he has any last words.  Herb, quietly: "I have no ill feeling and I hold nothing against anyone."  Back in the cells, Herb's friends begin tapping their tin cups against the bars, louder and louder.  They want Herb to know he is not alone.  Herb, with his arms, legs, chest, and head strapped in, is left alone in the chamber.  The inmates strike their cups harder against the bars, calling out words of comfort.  "We're all with you, Herb!  We love you!  I'm walking with you, Herb!  Believe in your heart, Herb!"  The noise is now so loud that it can be heard in the death chamber.  Herb, immobilized not just by the straps, but by intense fear, looks up at the air vent in the ceiling, hearing his friends and their support.  His breathing slows and a peace descends.  He is not facing death alone.  (Caution: scene may disturb some viewers)

Bryan has come to be with Herb as he faces execution.  Herb sits alone in a cell, head completely shorn.  Even his eyebrows are gone.  Bryan sits down next to the condemned man, offering what little comfort he can.  Herb, sadly: "Most people don't get to sit and think all day about it being their last day alive.  It's different than 'Nam.  At least I had a chance there."  Bryan, knowing he is powerless to help the man: "I'm sorry."  Herb, near tears: "Can you pray with me?"  Bryan: "Of course."  Both men bow their heads together.
