ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Frank and Alice show Scott the bedroom of their son, William, who died in Vietnam.  It has been left as a place the grieving parents can go to remember the good times.  A letterman's jacket lies casually on a chair.  Trophies and photographs line shelves.  William's old army men still sit on the windowsill.  Frank remembers the day William left for the war: "I was never so frightened and I was never so proud."  Frank walks over to the window: "I can't help it, but I still miss watching him mow the lawn out there - - the smell of fresh-cut grass on his sneakers.  And how he folded his clothes, even when they were dirty, 'cause he knew it pleased his mom.  I miss the way he tapped his cleats for luck when he went up to bat.  And the way he always found me when he crossed home plate.  There's a thousand things like that.  But, mostly, I miss what I didn't get to see him do.  I never got to see him marry or fall in love with a child of his own.  'Cause only then could he understand how much his father loved him."  Frank bows his head, overcome with emotion.


William, an Air Force Para jumper, arrived on the scene of a terrible battle, intending to airlift the wounded out of the jungle.  However, when he discovered the unit's medic was wounded, William voluntarily left the chopper to tend to the boys on the ground.  Now, as William preps a young soldier for the airlift, he finds a sense of responsibility tugging at his heart.  Tulley calls down to him, telling him to get back in the aircraft where he belongs.  Instead, William looks around, seeing dead and dying young men everywhere.  Chauncy, wounded, watches William with awestruck gratitude as he waves away the chopper and any chance he had of survival with it.  Chauncy knows that William has every right to leave the battlefield, to escape the bullets that are searing through the air and the artillery that is exploding around them.  But William chooses to stay, to give his life for others.  Chauncy begins to weep.  (Caution: scene of warfare)

William, fighting in Vietnam, writes a letter home to his sweetheart, Jenny.  As William narrates his letter, we see scenes from the war interspersed with scenes from back home.  A helicopter lands in the jungle.  "Sometimes it's difficult to understand why we've been sent here, or to explain what happens."  A decorated soldier pulls up in front of a suburban home, holding a carefully folded flag.  "The only thing I fear of dying is that dreams of you won't come.  That death is dark and still and endless like these jungle nights."  A man in uniform sits in the middle of a jungle, writing a letter.  "But sometimes I think, Jen, maybe it is this place I'll wake up from, safe and warm in your bed, the morning light streaming in."  A young woman runs, crying, out of the house to meet the soldiers as they get out of the car.  "But if it is the thunder here that's real, and if this letter should reach you instead of me, then know that I am never far."  A young man tends wounded soldiers on the battlefield, gunfire all around.  "Take care of mom and especially dad, because he'll take this worst of all.  Tell them I'm sorry for what I put them through, but that I am sure of my purpose and in the words we all believe...these things we do that others may live."  The young woman looks up into the heavens, weeping.


Scott is interviewing Chauncy at his retreat-home in Vietnam.  (Chauncy has created a sort of haven for Vietnam vets to come, rest, and find healing from the scars of their past.)  Scott, as they walk through the lush jungle: "So, why do these vets come here to see you?  What do you do here?"  Chauncy: "I live, I love, and listen."  Scott: "So, you listen to them, to the vets?"  Chauncy: "Try to re-write their story...help 'em."  Scott: "You can't change their past."  Chauncy: "But you can change your perspective.  You can create new memories.  Happy memories.  Even in a sad place.  It's choices.  Lot of guys come through here.  People think the war is who those men are.  And it's not...it's what happened to them.  And it's just wonderful to kind of go through stuff with 'em."  Chauncy leads Scott into a netted enclosure.  Inside, the enclosure is filled with tropical plants and flowers.  Stunning butterflies fly all around them.  It is a haven of peace, and it is right on the spot of the bloodiest battle in Vietnam.  Chauncy: "I never brought anyone who didn't feel happy here.  This is Abilene (the name of the battle), right here, under your feet.  But now, it's Avalon.  How can that be possible...to have those two things in the same place?"  Chauncy tells Scott to stay still, breathe, and let the place sink into him.  Scott can see in his mind's eye the soldiers who died behind the beauty of the flowers and butterflies.  Scott, thinking of the sufferings in his own life and desiring the same healing for himself, begins to weep.


Scott is talking to Tulley about the scars they carry from hurts in their past.  Scott: "When I was five years old, I watched my father pack up his things in his car and leave my mother and me.  I was so afraid.  It hurt so much.  I ran out into the driveway and I shoved my hand in the car door as he slammed it shut.  I thought that if he saw I was injured and really hurt that he would have to take me to the hospital and the doctor would tell him to stay and take care of me.  But he just drove away.  I chased his car down the street, my hand all mangled, till my mother scooped me up."  Tulley, nodding his understanding: "You were marked."

Whit has just presented Mr. and Mrs. Pitsenbarger the Medal of Honor on behalf of their son, who gave his life to save the men of Charlie Company.  Whit, addressing an audience of hundreds, asks the men of Charlie Company to stand.  A dozen or so men stand up.  These were the men whose lives were directly saved by Pits.  Next, Whit asks the men of Pits's company to stand.  These are the men who served alongside Pits, who watched him leave the safety of his chopper and descend to the battlefield alone.  Another dozen or so men stand.  Whit next asks the rest of the veterans in the room to stand.  The room is already more than half standing when Whit asks the wives and families of veterans to join them.  Whit makes one final request: "Anyone who has been touched or moved in any way by the actions of this Medal of Honor recipient, would you also stand?"  Every last one of the hundreds of people in the room are now standing.  Whit: "Look around.  This is the power of what one person can do."

Frank and Alice are showing Scott old videos of when their son, William, was a boy.  Frank tells Scott he was close to his son, even though he had to travel a lot when the boy was young: "I missed so much!"  Scott turns to Alice, wondering how a mother can watch her son go off to war: "Why did you let him go?  Why didn't you just stop him?"  Alice: "You can't teach your children values and then just withdraw them because you're afraid of what you might lose."  Scott, thinking of William's short life: "It just seemed like such a high price to pay."  Alice: "If not my son, then whose?  My neighbor's?  My sister's?  Yours?  Bill...he honored all of us by serving, and that's no small thing."

Scott is interviewing Billy about his life after Vietnam.  Billy surprises Scott by telling him that he returned to Vietnam voluntarily after having been seriously wounded in one of the bloodiest battles of the war.  Billy: "I didn't understand the world anymore and the world sure as h--l didn't understand me, so where the h--l else was I gonna go?"  Billy goes on to describe the event that was really the catalyst for him returning to the only place he still understood: "After I got healed up, this old high-school buddy of mine called and invited me for beers."  The friend took Billy to a social club that had a sign in the window calling Vietnam vets "baby killers."  Billy tried to ignore the sign and visit with his friend.  But, he quickly realized he had little in common with someone who hadn't seen the horrors he had: "The more he talked, the more I realized wasn't nothin' hittin', you know?  Then he blurts out, 'I hear you got the Purple Heart.  What happened?  You got shot?'"  Everyone in the room heard and turned to stare at Billy.  Billy: "All's I can hear is screams from the jungle that day and artillery whistle in the air, and I started to get pissed."  Billy lifts his shirt and shows his friend the five holes in his back to "shut him up."  But, when his friend callously remarks, "What was you doin'?  Runnin' away?" Billy loses it.  He starts a brawl that brings the police.  But, when the police see the sign on the window of the club, they have compassion on Billy and let him go.  Billy, describing trying to return to normal life: "I knocked around a couple of months, but nothing seemed to click.  Nothing stuck, you know?  I was a refugee in my own country, and that hurt way more than those bullets.  How could I stay?"  Just then, Billy's young grandson comes up and puts his arms around Billy: "Does it still hurt, Grandpa?"  Billy: "Only on the inside, Baby Boy."
