ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

## How We Use Cookies

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.

Coach is overseeing a football match when he notices two boys sitting on the sidelines: "Why aren't you taking part?"  The poor boys tell him their mothers have no money for doctors and so will not allow them to play a game where they might get hurt.  Born a poor orphan himself, Coach understands, and asks the boys if they would like to learn a different sort of game.  Coach: "Have you heard of chess?"  Brian: "Me, I know.  You kiss a person and try to catch them."  Coach laughs, telling them it is a board game.  When the boys show little interest in a board game, Coach entices them with his own story: "Too bad, eh?  I thought you might like beating city boys.  When I was at school, the city boys with their gold watches, they loved this game.  They had contests to see who was the best."  A scene from Coach's past shows flashy young men sitting at a chess board, arrogantly betting they'd beat him at their game.  Coach: "Me, I was a poor orphan.  So, like you, I had no gold watch.  But I practiced my chess."  As the game progresses, the city boys look less and less confident.  Coach: "I defeated them all."  Finally, Coach wins, taking their money with gratitude: "Thank you.  I have tuition to pay."  Brian and his friend are enthralled with the idea of achieving success in some area of their poor lives: "Bring us this game!"

Phiona is talking with her older sister, Night.  Suddenly troubled, Phiona asks: "Do you think God wants bad fortune for us?"  Night, shocked: "Why would you say this?"  Phiona: "Because, since Papa and Juliet passed away, it seems He is angry with us."  Night, defiantly: "I don't think God cares about us one way or the other."  Phiona watches sadly as her sister walks away.

Coach is trying to teach his students the importance of strategy in the game of chess and in life.  He turns to Ivan: "When you fetch water for your mother, do you just go any time of the day?  Or do you think a bit first?"  Ivan relates how he decides when to go based on line times and safety concerns.  Coach, smiling: "Ah!  A plan!"  He turns to the other students, asking them what they do when the seasonal floods come to town.  Gloria answers, telling him she climbs in her hammock to avoid being washed away.  Coach: "Your hammock!  Good plan!"  Coach puts a few pieces out on the chess board: "Threats, from many directions."  Pointing to individual pieces, he labels each one a different real-life threat: "Robbers.  Angry property owners.  Floods.  And other dangers."  He points to a chess piece that is in danger from many foes: "How can this bishop survive?"  At first glance, the students think the situation is impossible, but Coach directs them to think, to make a plan.  As they study the board, they come up with a successful solution that didn't seem apparent at first.  Coach: "You looked closely.  You analyzed the threats.  You made a plan.  And bishop found safety, eh?  Use your minds.  Follow your plans, and you will all find safe squares."

Coach enters the bunk room with a cheerful greeting for his chess students.  Expecting to find excitement among them on the morning of the tournament, Coach is surprised to find most are despondent.  Several, in fact, are crying, wanting to go home.  They feel that kids from the slum can be no match against the privileged and wealthy.  Coach tells them a story about a starving dog who began to chase after a cat, hoping to make it his meal.  With great dramatic flair, the coach soon has the students enthralled by the story, and he succeeds in gaining their attention to the moral.  The dog, exhausted, gives up the chase and the cat escapes to safety.  Coach: "I said, 'Dog, what happened, eh?  You were so hungry and your dinner got away.'  Dog said to me, 'The problem is, me, I was only running for a meal.  That cat was running for her life.'  You see, these children, they have nice clothes, comfortable beds.  They are like Dog.  Everything comes very easy.  But you...my great cats, eh?  You are running for your lives."  Coach leads all the students in prayer and then they leave for the tournament, inspired to do their best.

Brian is walking across the street to sell maize when a motorcycle appears out of nowhere and knocks him to the ground.  The cycle disappears as quickly as it arrived, and Brian is left bleeding and nearly unconscious in the middle of the street.  His sister, Phiona, runs to his side, begging the people milling around for help.  No one answers her pleas.  They look at the boy on the ground and continue walking.  Finally, Phiona forces another motorcyclist to stop and asks him for a ride to the hospital.  With the boy lying on the ground in front of him, the man frowns, shaking his head.  Phiona, desperate, pulls out all the money she has earned from selling maize and offers it to the man in exchange for a ride.  He agrees.

Coach has come to ask Phiona why she has quit the chess team.  Phiona, thinking of her injured brother, her family's eviction, and their constant lack of food: "There are too many problems."  Coach: "But chess helps us solve problems, isn't it?"  Challenging the girl to a game, he quickly puts Phiona's king in serious danger.  In dire straits, but not checkmated yet, Phiona tips over her king, giving up.  Coach, disappointed to see her quit: "No, no, Phiona!  Never tip your king so quick."  Phiona: "Why not?  When you're going to be beaten anyway?"  Coach, directing her to look at the board and realize her assets, not her losses: "Focus on what you have."  Phiona thinks he couldn't possibly understand the struggles of her life in the slums, but Coach was raised in the slums himself.  Coach: "When I was a child, my mother left me.  In that moment, I wanted to die.  But it is a good thing I did not take my life, eh?"  He recounts the blessings he now has because he did not give up when times were tough.  Again, looking into her eyes: "Do not be quick to tip your king, Phiona.  You must never surrender."

Harriet, concerned about Phiona's attitude since returning a champion, has come to visit Coach Robert: "You said your project would make Phiona's character stronger.  Since you took her to this Sudan, she refuses to do many of her tasks."  We see Harriet at home, trying to awaken Phiona to do her household chores.  Phiona refuses to get up: "It is improper for the tournament winner to wash cassava."  Harriet: "Who should wash them, then?  Those of us who are not tournament winners?"  Back at Robert's house, Harriet speaks her concern: "I am her mother.  She should do as I say.  She believes your game will solve every problem of her life."  At the house, Harriet drags Phiona out of the bed.  Angry, Phiona stomps out of the house, leaving her chores undone.  Harriet tells Robert that, as a child, she had been told a tale of paradise on Earth, but had since learned it didn't exist: "You have shown my children a paradise, yes, but now they feel out of place where they are!"  We see Phiona, wearing pink sunglasses and sporting her new hairdo, lying on a couch as if it were a chaise lounge.  Phiona complains to Robert about wealthy kids she met at the tournament who regularly fly in jets to be trained by experts: "She has her own computer to practice with.  She has biscuits.  She has clothings!"  Robert: "Why does this suddenly bother you now?"  Phiona, with a strong sense of entitlement: "Because I won that girl!  Coach, I won her!"  Harriet: "They will not be able to return to their old lives because they have tasted yours.  Not here, not there...like ghosts who cannot rest."  We see an apathetic-looking Phiona sitting on a couch, doing nothing.

Phiona stares at the chess board, knowing she has lost.  Disappointment and despair overwhelming her, she resigns.  She runs away from the stadium, hoping only to be alone.  Coach chases after her, finding her weeping on a sidewalk.  Phiona: "I will never be a Master!  I will never be good enough!"  Her first major loss has so discouraged her that Phiona believes she is good for nothing but selling corn.  Coach: "Losing does not mean you're a failure!  It just takes time, that's all.  Stamina, that is the key."  But Phiona is too distraught to listen to wisdom: "I wish you had never taught me this game!"

Phiona, reeling from the difficulties in her life, as well as her own recent championship loss, tells Coach she fears her life will never change for the better.  Seeing the young girl is discouraged and hopeless, Coach decides to tell her something of his own story.  As a small boy, his teenage mother had abandoned him.  When he was six, she came back and became the center of his life.  Within two years, however, she had died and Coach was again alone: "I lost her for a second time.  I, too, thought things could never change.  But they did.  Losses happen for all of us.  But what matters is when you reset the pieces and play again."

Sara, seeing her husband looks worried, asks him what is wrong.  Robert tells her that he was offered the stable, supervisory position he had always longed for: "Good pay.  Much higher than what we now receive from the ministry."  Robert, fearing to disappoint his wife, reluctantly confesses: "I refused him."  Apologizing, Robert tells his wife that he could not abandon the people he had been called to serve.  Sara shakes her head, looking angry: "Why do you do this?"  Robert hangs his head, swallowing hard.  Sara approaches him, looking him in the eye: "Why are you sorry for doing what you know is right?  I always knew you were the kind of person who would give everything to a purpose like the Pioneers.  That is your work.  And that is the work of this family."
