ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Joe, a junior high band teacher, is trying hard not to grimace as he listens to the noise that passes for music in the band room.  The middle schoolers apathetically attempt to follow their music, but false notes and missed beats abound.  The hint of a melody can be heard beneath the racket, but it is minute and fleeting.  Uninspired, the students appear to be doing little more than just getting through another class.  A paper airplane sails across the room.  A boy attempts to play while checking his phone.  A girl makes no attempt at all, simply laying on her chairs in preparation for a nap.  Joe points to Connie, initiating her trombone solo.  Connie is surprisingly skillful and soon becomes lost in the music, playing so well that the others in the band stop to listen.  But, when they begin to laugh at Connie for abandoning the lethargic norm, she stops, embarrassed.  Joe comes to her defense, telling his students that inspiration is a good thing.  He sits down at the piano and begins to improvise.  As he plays, he tells them how he first knew he wanted to be a jazz pianist.  His father took him to a jazz club and, as he listened to the music, he was inspired: "That guy was lost in the music.  He was in it, and he took the rest of us with him."  Joe's amazing piano music has awoken the students.  Even the most apathetic of them are hanging on every note.  Joe: "I wanted to learn how to talk like that.  That's when I knew I was born to play."


Joe shows his protégé through an exhibit of his life on Earth.  Here, snippets of Joe's life are on display.  At first, Joe approaches the exhibit eagerly, remembering fondly the moment in his youth when he first learned he wanted to be a jazz pianist.  But, when they move on to later moments of Joe's life, Joe becomes despondent.  He sees himself trying to establish a career in music, but facing rejecting after rejection.  He fails at everything he tries to accomplish.  Finally, he becomes a band teacher, just to make ends meet.  He teaches reluctant kids how to play sub-par music and eats his dinners alone.  A large stone monument shows Joe sitting in a laundromat, waiting for his clothes to come out of the dryer.  They come to the final display in the exhibit...Joe's last moments on Earth.  A middle-aged man lies on a hospital bed, in a coma.  Joe, devastated as finishes looking back over his life: "My life was meaningless."


While Dez cuts his hair, Joe starts talking about the things life has been teaching him lately.  The philosophical conversation captures the attention of the entire barber shop and the patrons hang on his every word.  Joe: "They say you're born to do something, but how do you figure out what that thing is?  What if you pick up the wrong thing?  Then you're stuck."  Patron: "Been there."  Dez: "I wouldn't call myself stuck, but I never planned on cuttin' heads for a livin'.  Joe: "Wait, but you were born to be a barber, weren't you?"  Dez: "I wanted to be a veterinarian."  Joe: "So...why didn't you do that?"  Dez: "I was planning to when I got out of the Navy.  Then my daughter got sick and barber school is a lot cheaper than veterinarian school."  Joe, feeling sorry for a man who didn't get to follow his dream: "Well, that's too bad.  You're stuck as a barber and now you're unhappy."  Dez, correcting Joe's misapprehension: "I'm happy as a clam, man.  Not everyone can be Charles Drew inventing blood transfusions."  Joe, enjoying their conversation: "I wonder why sitting in this chair makes me want to tell you thing, Dez?"  Dez: "That's the magic of the chair!  That's why I love this job.  I get to meet interesting folks like you, make them happy, and make them handsome.  I may not have invented blood transfusions, but I am most definitely saving lives."

Joe chases after 22, who is a "lost soul" trapped inside her own insecurities.  In the form of a large sand beast, she swallows Joe whole, wanting to stop his pursuit of her.  Inside, Joe finds himself in a whirling sandstorm, at the heart of which is 22's soul.  She is crying and repeating to herself all the lies she believes about herself and has heard from others: "I'm not good enough."  Sand forms into images of people who have discouraged her and they speak the words of hurt into the storm:  "You're dishonest.  All you make are bad decisions and you won't make it in the world.  You're so selfish.  No one would ever want to be around you.  Loser.  You are the least remarkable soul I have ever met.  You have no purpose!  There's not point...you'll never find your spark."  Joe struggles to reach her through the whirling sandstorm but is unsuccessful until he finds a seed from a tree that 22 found on Earth.  She found it during a time when life was full of hope and meaning for her.  He shows her the seed and the whirling sand clears.  Suddenly, they are back on Earth together, reliving that memory.  Joe: "You ready?  To come and live?"  22 cowers: "I'm scared, Joe.  I'm not good enough.  I never got my spark."  Joe encourages 22 to see that she has a spark, that she does have a purpose in life.  22 believes him, and the sand melts away, leaving the two standing together at the edge of the portal to Earth.


Joe sits at the piano, depressed at how his life has turned out.  His eyes catch on a pile of stuff from the day he spent with 22.  He spreads the hodgepodge out on the piano and begins to play, drawing on his memories from inspiration.  Each item brings a memory to mind and Joe begins to see his life differently.  He sees his mother, washing his hands and smiling at him as a little boy.  He sees his music student becoming lost in the music he taught her to play.  He sees his father, passing on his love of jazz music to his son, holding him on his lap to listen to records.  He sees himself, happily riding his bicycle and looking up at a bright, sunny sky.  He sees fireworks and pecan pie, and a tear wells up in his eyes as he remembers the big and the little joys of a life spent in teaching others to have a love of music.  He feels the ocean waves come over his toes and watches the sun set beneath the horizon.  The tear courses down his cheek as he continues to play the beautiful melody. 


Joe and 22 are wandering in a spiritual realm where people are lost inside themselves.  Joe looks out over the dark landscape and sees sad lumps of creatures, eyes on the ground, pacing aimlessly.  One of the creatures is muttering to himself: "Make a trade.  Make a trade.  Make a trade."  Joe: "What is that?"  The creature, hearing Joe, begins to chase after him and 22.  Just before it catches them, a rainbow-colored 3-masted ship breezes across the sands and tosses out a net, catching the creature.  Moonwind, the captain of the ship, disembarks cheerily: "Ahoy there, fellow astral travelers!"  He introduces himself to Joe: "We are the mystics without borders, devoted to helping the lost souls of Earth find their way."  Three crew members, with names like Windstar, Dancerstar, and Dreamerwind, descend and approach the captured creature: "Let's get this lost soul back home."  Moonwind: "Poor fellow.  Some people just can't let go of their own anxieties and obsessions, leaving them lost and disconnected from life.  This is the result."  The creature, helped out of the net by a crew member, is still chanting: "Make a trade."  The crew members begin to play Eastern-sounding music until the darkness surrounding the creature falls to the ground, revealing a bright soul underneath.  The soul repeats one more time: "Make a trade?"  Moonwind: "Looks like another hedge fund manager."  One of the crew draws a circle on the ground with a crystal staff: "Now, to reconnect to your earthly body."  The sand in the circle falls away, revealing a portal looking down on a man in a cubicle, staring at a computer screen.  Lost soul: "Whoa.  That's me!"  He jumps into the portal, landing back inside his own body.  When the soul reconnects with the flesh, the man stops typing and sits up straight.  He opens his eyes wide in sudden realization: "What am I doing with my life?"  He leaps out of his chair and joyously swipes everything off his desk onto the ground.  He runs around the office, encouraging others to join him in his newfound freedom: "I'm alive!  I'm alive!  Free yourselves!"

Joe has fallen down a manhole (see clip # CV10763) and wakes up to find that he has died.  Instead of having a body, Joe is in soul form - - a small blue blob that retained a few of his features from Earth.  Confused, Joe looks around and sees that he appears to be in space, riding a treadmill that leads into an enormous ball of light.  Terrified, he begins to run backward down the treadmill, trying to avoid the light.  He encounters the soul of an elderly woman and tells her: "Look, I'm not supposed to be here."  Woman, smiling: "Ah, must have been sudden for you.  You see, Joe, I'm 106 years old.  Been waiting a long time for this."  Joe, stricken: "For what?"  The woman points at the light: "The Great Beyond."  Joe, looking in horror at the light: "As in beyond life?  That's death right there?"  Woman: "Exciting, isn't it?"  But Joe is far from excited: "I can't die right now.  I'm not dying the very day I got my shot.  I'm outta here."  Joe begins to walk backwards along the treadmill.  He turns to look as the old woman is lifted into the light.  As her soul joins the light, a crackling sound like an electric current is heard.  This terrifies Joe and he begins to run: "I don't wanna die!"  As he passes by other souls, he wonders why they are peacefully facing their fate: "Why aren't you running?  What's wrong with you people?"  He passes more and more souls, until he is caught in the midst of thousands.  There is a huge mass of souls heading to the light and, since he can no longer get through them, Joe tries to jump off the treadmill.  An invisible force seems to surround the treadmill like a blanket.  Joe throws himself against it, desperate to escape.  Finally, he is able to tear his way through it and he falls into blackness, screaming.


Joe, thrilled to have just landed the gig of a lifetime, is calling his friends to tell them the news.  As he walks down the city sidewalk, talking on his cell phone, he is blissfully unaware of the danger all around him.  He walks right through a construction site, narrowly missing being crushed by a ton of bricks.  Angry construction worker: "Hey pal!  You're gonna get hurt!"  Joe notices neither the bricks nor the worker.  He continues on, walking straight into traffic.  Cars and buses weave around him, honking their horns and swerving.  Still on his phone, Joe doesn't even notice.  He makes it safely across the street, only to land in another pitfall of possible pain.  A grocery and hardware display has collapsed onto the sidewalk and several employees are trying to clean up a spill of banana peels and nails.  Oblivious, Joe walks right through them, again somehow remaining unharmed.  Just then, a dog lunges at him, finally breaking him out of his faze.  He reflexively jumps back, right into the path of a motorcycle.  The driver is able to swerve around him and Joe breaths a sigh of relief.  He lifts the cellphone back to his ear and takes one step...right into an open manhole.  He yells as he drops to the bottom.
