ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

(Disc 2) In Fangorn Merry and Pippin ask Treebeard to take them in the direction of Isengard, where they witness the deforestation caused by Saruman's war effort. Enraged, Treebeard and the Ents storm Isengard, trapping Saruman in his tower.

Deep in the mines of Moria, the Fellowship all safely cross a bridge to freedom except Gandalf, who turns to face a Balrog (an ancient demon of fire): "You shall not pass!" and strikes the bridge with his staff, causing it to crumble under the beast and fall to the depths below -- but not before wrapping its whip around Gandalf's leg and pulling him down as well. The wizard's last words to his friends: "Fly, you fools!"  Gandalf follows the Balrog in the very long drop, gathering his sword and catching the monster -- which he continues to wrestle with, fight and stab. Thrusting the creature with one last blow to the head, both crash into a huge ocean of water below.  (Caution: intense scene)

On their way to Mordor, Frodo and Sam are using a rope to climb down the jagged edge of a cliff, unable to see the bottom. Sam looses his footing for a moment as a small box drops from his pocket. Screaming for Frodo below to catch it, his friend painfully does. Finally reaching the bottom, Frodo asks what vital contents the box held.  "Nothing. Just a bit of seasoning. I thought maybe if we was having a roast chicken one night or something."  Frodo: "Roast chicken?!"  Sam: "You never know."  Frodo (smiling and shaking head): "Sam. My dear Sam."

While Frodo and Sam try and catch some much deserved rest at night among the rocks, the nasty creature Gollum (who's been tracking them -- hell-bent on getting his grubby hands on the Ring again -- which originally poisoned and transformed him into his current ghastly nature) finally makes his move: "The thieves. The filthy little thieves. Where is it? They stole it from us. My precious. Curse them, we hates them! It's ours, it is, and we wants it!"  As he reaches for it, the hobbits awake with a jolt and battle the vicious beast -- until Frodo threatens to cut its throat with a sword. Now captured, Gollum changes from a threatening adversary to a wimpy, whiney prisoner.

Crossing the grasslands looking for their friends, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli come across a small army of horsemen. The Riders of Rohan surround the three with spears inches from their faces...  The Rohan leader questions them: "What business does an Elf, a Man and a Dwarf have in the Riddermark? Speak quickly!"  Always putting his small foot in his mouth (ala St. Peter), Gimli responds with an attitude (causing Aragorn to roll his eyes): "Give me your name, horse-master, and I shall give you mine."  Leader (jumping off his horse): "I would cut off your head, Dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground."  Legolas immediately cocks an arrow towards his head, sticking up for his friend: "You would die before your stroke fell."  Aragorn quickly steps in, calms the situation, and introduces them all.

Gollum leads Frodo and Sam through a horrible stinking marsh. Sam notices that there are dead faces in the water...  Gollum: "All dead. All rotten. Elves and Men and Orcses. A great battle long ago. The Dead Marshes. Yes, that is their name. This way."  He then gives a warning: "Don't follow the lights."  Sam stumbles into the water, causing Gollum to hiss: "Careful now! Or Hobbits go down to join the dead ones, and light little candles of their own."  Frodo stops and begins staring into the water -- becoming mesmerized. Falling forward into the bog, Frodo is slowly surrounded by luminous, very grotesque dead beings -- reaching out for him. Gollum quickly snatches Frodo from the water and repeats his warning: "Don't...follow...the lights."  (Caution: intense scene)

Making their way through the Dead Marshes, Frodo, Sam and Gollum are suddenly startled by a screeching Ringwraith in the sky -- still seeking the One Ring -- riding a great dragon. The group quickly hides as the Wraith circles, looking for the bearer of evil, causing Frodo to grab his chest and wither in pain.

Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are searching in Fangorn Forrest for their captured Hobbit friends when Legolas becomes uneasy: "Something is out there. ...The White Wizard (the evil Saruman) approaches."  Aragorn: "Do not let him speak. He will put a spell on us. (Aragorn readies his sword, Gimli his axe and Legolas his arrow) We must be quick..."  Turning around and attacking a figure surrounded by a bright light, their weapons are easily swatted away. The figure mysteriously speaks, knowing the details of their quest.  Aragorn: "Who are you? Show yourself!"  The light dims as Gandalf (whom they saw die in the caverns of Moria) reveals himself.  Aragorn: "It cannot be. ...You fell."  Gandalf: "Through fire...and water (his final killing of the demonic Balrog is shown). ...Until at last I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside. Darkness took me and I strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and every day was as long as a life age of the Earth. But it was not the end. I felt life in me again. I've been sent back until my task is done.  Aragorn and Gimli speak his name.  Gandalf: "Yes. That is what they used to call me. Gandalf the Grey. That was my name. ...I am Gandalf the White. And I come back to you now at the turn of the tide."  (A scene reminiscent of a resurrected Jesus revealing Himself to the confused disciples for the first time)

Gandalf and friends arrive at Edoras and pay a visit to King Theoden -- who's mind is being possessed from afar by the evil Saruman and his kingly advice poisoned by his wretched advisor Grima Wormtongue. Gandalf approaches the King (in a sickly ghastly state)...  Grima (whispering to King): "My lord, Gandalf the Grey is coming. He's a herald of woe. ...He's not welcome."  King (struggling to speak): "Why should I welcome you, Gandalf Stormcrow?"  Grima: "A just question, my liege. (To all) Late is the hour in which this conjurer chooses to appear. ...Ill news is an ill guest."  Gandalf: "Be silent! Keep your forked tongue behind your teeth. I have not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm."  Gandalf raises his staff and approaches the King as the others hold back the soldiers...  Gandalf: "Theoden, son of Thengel, too long have you sat in the Shadows. Hearken to me! I release you from the spell."  King (chuckling evilly): "You have no power here, Gandalf the Grey."  At this, the wizard removes his outer cloak -- emitting a stunning brilliance: "I will draw you, Saruman, as poison is drawn from a wound."  Gandalf points his staff at the King, who begins to moan and wither in pain.  Saruman (through King): "If I go, Theoden dies."  Gandalf: "You did not kill me, you will not kill him."  Saruman (through King): "Rohan is mine."  Gandalf: "Be gone!"  The King screams one last time and lurches toward Gandalf, who smites him in the head (Saruman is shown skidding across the floor in his tower, many miles away).  Moaning, the King transforms into his rightful, healthy self... "Gandalf?"  Gandalf: "Breathe the free air again, my friend."  (Caution: intense scene)

With the Orc army of Saruman approaching the city, Gandalf councils King Theoden to stand up and fight: "Ride out and meet him head on. Draw him away from your women and children. You must fight!"  Aragorn: "You have 2000 good men riding north as we speak. Eomer is loyal to you. His men will return and fight for their king."  Theoden: "They will be 300 leagues from here by now. Eomer cannot help us. I know what it is you want of me, but I will not bring further death to my people. I will not risk open war."  Aragorn: "Open war is upon you, whether you would risk it or not."  Theoden (a little snitty): "When last I looked, Theoden, not Aragorn, was king of Rohan."  Gandalf: "Then what is the king's decision?"  Later, the whole city scrambles: "By order of the king, the city must empty. We make for the refuge of Helm's Deep..."  Gimli: "Helm's Deep. They flee to the mountains when they should stand and fight. Who will defend them if not their king?"  Aragorn: "He is only doing what he thinks is best for his people. Helm's Deep has saved them in the past."  Gandalf: "There is no way out of that ravine. Theoden is walking into a trap. He thinks he's leading them to safety. What they will get is a massacre."

At night, while Frodo (bearer of the evil Ring of Power) and Sam sleep, Smeagol has an argument with the dark side of his split personality...  Gollum: "We wants it (the Ring). We needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us. Sneaky little Hobbitses. Wicked. Tricksy. False."  Smeagol (reverting to a gentle, smiling face): "No. Not master."  Gollum: "Yes, precious. False. They will cheat you, hurt you, lie!"  Smeagol: "Master's my friend."  Gollum: "You don't have any friends. Nobody likes you."  Smeagol (covering ears): "Not listening. I'm not listening."  Gollum: "You're a liar and a thief. ...Murderer."  Smeagol (whimpering): "Go away."  Gollum: "Go away (laughing evilly)?"  Smeagol: "I hate you."  Gollum: "Where would you be without me? Gollum (making choking sound). I saved us. It was me. We survived because of me."  Smeagol (suddenly smiling): "Not anymore."  Gollum: "What did you say?"  Smeagol: "Master looks after us now. We don't need you."  Gollum: "What?"  Smeagol: "Leave now, and never come back (repeats)!"  Gollum then looks around happily and begins to dance: "We told him to go away. And away he goes, precious. Gone! Gone! Gone! Smeagol is free!"

(Disc 2) On their way to the fortress of Helm's Deep, the people stop to rest when Eowyn offers our heroes some stew she's just made... Gimli, after one sniff: "Uh, no, I couldn't. (As he's walking away) I really couldn't."  She then approaches Aragorn: "I made some stew. It isn't much, but it's hot."  He graciously accepts as she serves him a bowl. However, the moment the first bite barely enters his mouth, he knows he's made a grave mistake. But, since she is standing over him waiting for a response, he bravely swallows and can only nod his head, as he squeaks out: "It's good."  Eowyn: "Really?" and then turns to walk away. Taking advantage of her early departure, he immediately starts to pour it out, but unfortunately, she quickly returns for a few more words -- forcing him to spill the boiling liquid over his hands as he re-balances his bowl (they discuss Aragorn being a "Dunedain," who are blessed with long life).  Eowyn (noticing she's interrupted his meal): "I'm sorry, please eat."  Darn.

(Disc 2) Faramir reflects on the last moments he had with his older and now dead brother, Boromir, after the favored brother gave a rousing speech to the city of Osgiliath.  Faramir: "Good speech. Nice and short."  Boromir: "Leaves more time for drinking! (While drinking ale among the men) Remember today, little brother. Today life is good."  Faramir (his mood changing to grim as their nasty father, the king, shows up): "He's here."  Boromir: "One moment of peace, can he not give us that?"  King: "Where is Gondor's finest? Where is my first-born? (The two hug) They say you vanquished the enemy almost single-handedly."  Boromir: "They exaggerate. The victory belongs to Faramir also."  King (frowning at younger son): "But for Faramir, this city would still be standing. Were you not entrusted to protect it?"  Faramir: "I would have done, but our numbers were too few."  King: "Oh, too few. You let the enemy walk in and take it on a whim. Always you cast a poor reflection on me."  Faramir: "That is not my intent."  Boromir: "You give him no credit, and yet he tries to do your will. (Walking away alone) He loves you, Father."  King: "Do not trouble me with Faramir, I know his uses, and they are few. We have more urgent things to speak of," as the two discuss Boromir going to the city of the Elves to bring back the Ring of Power...  With Boromir's refusal at first, Faramir volunteers.  King: "You? Oh, I see. A chance for Faramir, captain of Gondor, to show his quality. I think not. I trust this mission only to your brother."

(Disc 2) Faramir wakes up Frodo and takes him to the Forbidden Pool where Gollum (Smeagol) -- whose existence the Hobbit has denied -- is catching and eating fish...  Faramir: "To enter the Forbidden Pool bears the penalty of death."  He then points to surrounding archers ready to shoot and kill Gollum. "They wait for my command. Shall I shoot?"  Frodo (after a long pause and realizing that saying nothing will cost Gollum his life): "Wait. This creature is bound to me. And I to him. He is our guide. Please...let me go down to him."  He does, and to save Gollum's life, tries to convince him to leave: "Master is here! Come, Smeagol. Trust master. Come."  Gollum: "We must go now?"  Frodo: "Smeagol, you must trust master. Follow me. Come on."  He finally does and is quickly captured by soldiers.  Frodo: "Don't hurt him! Smeagol, don't struggle... Listen to me!"  Gollum (confused and frightened): "Master!"

(Disc 2) Inside the mountain fortress of Helm's Deep, the people ready themselves for a long stay as Aragorn enters the King's throne room -- alerting him of the approaching army...  King: "A great host, you say? ...How many?"  Aragorn: "Ten thousand strong at least."  King (bewildered): "Ten thousand?"  Aragorn: "It is an army bred for one single purpose: to destroy the world of men. They will be here by nightfall."  King: "Let them come!"  Preparing the men, they stop outside the front gates.  King: "No army has ever breached the Deeping Wall or set foot inside the Hornburg!"  Gimli: "This is no rabble of mindless Orcs. These are Uruk-hai. Their armor is thick and their shields broad."  King (snaps): "I have fought many wars, Master Dwarf. I know how to defend my own keep. (To all) They will break upon this fortress like water on rock. Saruman's hordes will pillage and burn. We've seen it before. Crops can be resown, homes rebuilt. Within these walls we will outlast them."  Aragorn: "They do not come to destroy Rohan's crops or villages. They come to destroy its people...down to the last child."  King (grabbing Aragorn's clothes): "What would you have me do? Look at my men. Their courage hangs by a thread. If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end as to be worthy of remembrance."  Aragorn: "Send out riders, my lord. You must call for aid."  King: "And who will come? Elves? Dwarves? We are not so lucky in our friends as you. The old alliances are dead. ...No, my lord Aragorn...we are alone."

(Disc 2) As the people prepare to hold off the massive army of evil approaching them in the fortress of Helm's Deep, Aragorn calls over a young armored boy over who seems puzzled with his sword: "Give me your sword."  The boy does, as Aragorn continues: "What is your name?"  Boy: "Haleth, son of Hama, my lord. The men are saying we will not live out the night. They say that it is hopeless."  Aragorn tests and examines the sword then hands it back: "This is a good sword, Haleth, son of Hama. (Whispering close to the boy's face) There is always hope."

(Disc 2) As the people prepare to hold off the massive army of evil approaching them in the fortress of Helm's Deep, a strange horn is heard outside the walls...  Legolas: "That is no Orc horn!"  Gatekeepers: "Send for the king. Open the gate!"  Marching through the gate in perfect unison comes a mighty Elf army.  King (bewildered): "How is this possible?"  Haldir the Elf: "I bring word from Elrond of Rivendell. An alliance once existed between Elves and Men. Long ago we fought and died together. We come to honor that allegiance."  Aragorn (after a hearty greeting in Elvin and a hug): "You are most welcome."  Haldir: "We are proud to fight alongside Men once more."  All gather at the wall in unity and await the approaching hordes of evil.  ...Legolas: "Your friends are with you, Aragorn."  Gimli: "Let's hope they last the night."

(Disc 2) Saruman's hordes have penetrated the walls of Helm's Deep and are making quick work of the king's remaining wounded and dwindled army -- moments away from breaching the inner defenses. Deep in the keep, a discouraged king talks with Aragorn and friends: "So much death. What can Men do against such reckless hate?"  Aragorn: "Ride out with me. Ride out and meet them."  King: "For death and glory."  Aragorn: "For Rohan. For your people."  Gimli then makes an interesting observation, "The sun is rising," causing Aragorn to remember the promise of Gandalf: "Look to my coming at first light on the fifth day. At dawn, look to the east."  The king and his last remaining warriors ride their horses out, fighting their way through the enemy -- when all stop and notice something high on the slope of the Eastern hill: Gandalf, in gleaming white apparel atop his white stallion. The wizard leads a vast army of horsemen down the mountainside and into the heart of evil -- triumphing over them in it!  (Caution: intense scene)

(Disc 2) While the city of Osgiliath comes under attack by hideous Orcs, Frodo continues to fall prey to the Ring's evil influence. A very puzzled Sam watches as his friend (whom he's sworn to protect) walks like a zombie to a high precipice atop the city -- where a dragon riding Ringwraith is drawn to the Ring. Hypnotically staring at the Nazgul, Frodo uncontrollably lifts the Ring -- and starts to place it on his finger (which would give the murderous Dark Lord its exact location since they are near the border of Mordor). Just in the nick of time, Sam grabs his friend, forces the Ring away, and pulls them both down a flight of stairs. Still under the Ring's pernicious influence, Frodo growls and thrusts his sword to Sam's neck.  Sam: "It's me. It's your Sam. Don't you know your Sam?"  Thankfully, Frodo comes to himself, drops his sword and falls back.

(Disc 2) After Sam has just saved Frodo's life and possibly the fate of all Middle-earth, an exasperated Ring-bearer tells his friend that he just "can't do this" anymore.  Always the optimist, Sam tries to encourge them both: "I know. It's all wrong. By rights, we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end, because how could the end be happy. (Heroes throughout Middle-earth continuing to fight are shown) How could the world go back to the way it was...when so much bad has happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing...this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding on to something."  Frodo: "What are we holding on to, Sam?"  Sam: "That there's some good in this world. And it's worth fighting for."

(Disc 2) Exhausted, yet continuing on their perilous journey to Mount Doom, Sam asks his friend a question: "I wonder if we'll ever be put into songs or tales?"  Frodo: "What?"  Sam: "I wonder if people will ever say, 'Let's hear about Frodo and the Ring.' And they'll say, 'Yes! That's one of my favorite stories. Frodo was really courageous, wasn't he, Dad?'  'Yes, my boy. The most famousest of Hobbits. And that's saying a lot.' "  Frodo: "Well, you've left out one of the chief characters: 'Samwise the Brave.' I want to hear more about Sam. Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam."  Sam: "Now, Mr. Frodo, you shouldn't make fun. I was being serious."  Frodo: "So was I."  Sam (smiling and repeating): " 'Samwise the Brave.' "  Hearing him, Frodo smiles too.
