ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, digital, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 14,000+ Scene Ideas, Views and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 600,000+ songs and 7,000+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from 3,000+ producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the scenes that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) was founded in 1986 by former MGM executives and an MPAA attorney. Their goal was to develop a process to help the public leverage the work of the creative community without infringing on copyright.

## How We Use Cookies

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. If you can't find your Key, please email us at: [support@screenvue.com ](mailto:support@screenvue.com "support@screenvue.com")

__"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What is the difference between Scene Ideas, Scene Views, and Scene Downloads?"__
- The ScreenVue Vault offers THREE different types of Scenes:

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly).

Rango, a lonely lizard with only plastic toys for companions, spends his time enacting dramatic adventures with his imaginary friends.  In the middle of a play, he suddenly begins to question his identity.  Rango: "I know who I am.  I'm the guy, the protagonist, the hero.  Every story needs a hero.  I mean, who else is better qualified to bask in the adulation of his numerous companions?"  Rango looks around at his plastic playmates and suddenly feels empty.  He reflects to himself: "Who am I?  I could be anyone."  Rango proceeds to act out various exciting characters and adventures, imagining himself as others because he has yet to discover who he really is.

Rango has recently become aware of the emptiness of his existence (see Scene # CV04827).  He decides that, as the hero of the story, he needs conflict to liven his dull life.  Rango: "What our story needs is an ironic, unexpected event that will propel the hero into conflict."  Suddenly, a car horn honks and Rango freezes inside his glass aquarium.  His eyes widen as the car he is riding in swerves to avoid an armadillo.  In slow motion, with "Ave Maria" playing dramatically in the background, Rango watches in horror as his aquarium flies off the back of the vehicle and onto the steaming hot desert freeway.  He hits the side of the aquarium, shattering it, and slides down the road on a broken piece of glass.  Finally coming to a halt, he lies there, stunned, as his owners speed away.

Rango is lying on the freeway, tired and hurt after an accident has left him homeless and alone.  Rango asks an old armadillo how to find water.  The armadillo speaks in an existentialist sort of way, using water as a metaphor for knowledge.  He tells Rango that he can find water by taking a  day's journey out into the harsh desert.  Rango, uncertainly looking out over the barren wasteland: "Uh, you want me to just walk out into the desert?"  Armadillo: "That's the way."  Rango is still unsure of whether to trust the armadillo: "Okay.  So you're saying there's a town, a real town, not a metaphor town?"  The armadillo assures him he speaks the truth.  Rango hesitatingly decides to trust the armadillo and strikes out blindly across the desert alone.  The armadillo calls out after him: "We all have our journeys to make.  I will see you on the other side."

Rango is walking tiredly across the desert when, suddenly, a voice tells him to stay still.  A toad, camouflaged to blend into the sand, is warning Rango of danger.  Rango looks up and sees a hawk circling above.  Frantically, he tries unsuccessfully to blend into his surroundings.  Finally, he hunkers down next to the toad and tries to change colors like a chameleon.  The hawk begins to dive towards the two and the toad warns Rango to run.  Rango flees, screaming, across the desert.  He buys himself some moments by trapping the hawk in a tin can, but is once again in hot water when an attempt to hide in a glass bottle fails.  The toad and Rango are now running side by side with the hawk right behind them.  Rango trips and falls, the toad stops to mock him, and the hawk grabs the toad in his talons.

Rango, new to the town of Dirt, is looking for a friend.  He smiles hopefully as he gazes at his new surroundings.  Suddenly, a rock hits him in the head.  He looks for the source of the blow and sees a group of children laughing at him.  He addresses their leader: "What was that for?"  Kid: "You're funny lookin'."  The two exchange insults until the child walks away.  Rango turns around at the sound of the only voice he knows in town.  He sees Beans, the woman who drove him to town, talking to Willie.  He waves at her eagerly, but Beans ignores him, telling Willie she doesn't know Rango.  Rango, realizing he is different from everyone else, tells himself to blend in.  He begins to mimic the creatures he sees around him.  First following a gun-toting spider, Rango imitates his bow-legged walk.  Then spying a vulture with one leg, Rango copies his awkward gait.  Finally, Rango sees an old porcupine spit in the dirt and pathetically tries to spit himself.  But he only produces a dry gasp that makes him cough.

Rango has come to speak with the mayor of the town of Dirt.  The two gaze out over the struggling town from a balcony outside the mayor's office.  The mayor tells Rango that life is hard for the people of Dirt: "Do you know how they make it through each and every day?  They believe.  They believe it's going to be better.  They believe against all odds and all evidence that tomorrow will be better than today.  People have to believe in something.  Right now, they believe in you."  The mayor hands Rango a sheriff's badge, knowing that the townspeople already look to him as a hero.  Mayor: "People have to believe in something."

Rango, unable to sleep, sees Beans standing by herself, staring at the moon.  They hear the sound of a coyote calling in the dark desert.  Beans: "That's such a lonely sound."  She asks Rango if he ever gets lonely.  Rango: "Sometimes."  Beans: "I can't imagine it.  You're such a charmer and everyone likes you so much.  I never made friends easily like that."  Beans tells Rango that her life was isolated, having grown up on a lonely ranch.  She never had contact with many people.  Hopefully, she asks Rango if there is anyone special in his life.  Rango says that, like her, his existence is a solitary one.

Sheriff Rango finds himself confronted by a mob of angry townspeople wanting to hang the thieves who stole the town's water.  Suffering through a terrible drought, the townspeople treat water like gold and the theft has robbed them of their hope.  Angry, they want revenge.  Spoons: "We got nothin' left to believe in."  Rango tells the people that he is committed to protecting law and order.  Without laws, he tells them, people would quickly sink to the lowest common denominator.  Rango: "Starts out slow, like a fungus.  Somebody says a cross word.  Accusations start flying.  Neighbor turns on neighbor.  Pretty soon, we're eating our children."  Rango points to the "Sheriff" sign over his door: "Believe in that there sign.  For as long as it hangs there, we got hope."  Suddenly, a flurry of shots ring out and the sign falls, full of bullet holes.

Sheriff Rango is confronted in the town square by the evil Rattlesnake Jake.  Jake exposes all of Rango's lies to the townspeople: "All these good folks here believe your little stories, don't they?  Seems these folks trust you.  They think you're gonna save their little town.  But we know better, don't we?"  The townspeople look at Rango, confusion and fear in their eyes.  Rango is forced to admit to all of his friends that everything he had told them about himself was a lie.  Jake, acting as accuser: "All you've done is lie to these good people.  You ain't nothing but a fake and a coward."  Rango, his shoulders sagging in shame, walks slowly out of town, seeing the disappointment in the eyes of his friends.  As he walks past Beans, she confronts him: "Who are you?"  He walks away, dropping his sheriff's badge on the ground.

Having betrayed his friends, Rango now finds himself alone and homeless.  Burdened with regret and shame, his disappointment is even more bitter in the knowledge that he has lost what he most wanted...friendship and belonging.  He walks slowly across the moonlit desert, alone except for his thoughts.  Crossing empty dunes, his tail drags limply in the sand.  Finally, he reaches the freeway where his journey once started.  He hugs his old friend the plastic fish to his chest.  Sitting sadly next to the road, he reflects to himself, answering the question that had once burned in his brain: "Who am I?  I'm nobody."  This decided, he takes off his hat and begins walking slowly across the busy freeway.  Cars and trucks miss him by mere hairsbreadths, the draft from their movement buffeting his body.  Uncaring, he welcomes death, but it doesn't come.  He makes it safely across the road, only to collapse on the other side from thirst and exhaustion.

Rango awakens from an exhausted stupor to find the sun shining brightly in his eyes.  Believing himself to be dead, he greets the "Spirit of the West" with awe.  (The spirit is a man of fable who travels the desert, bestowing enlightenment on those who seek it.  He is, in fact, a parody of Clint Eastwood driving a golf cart and carrying a metal detector.)  Rango: "Is this heaven?"  Spirit: "If it were, we'd be eatin' Pop Tarts with Kim Novak."  Rango: "What are you doing out here?"  Spirit: "Searching.  Same as you."  Rango, his head sagging: "I don't even know what I'm looking for anymore.  I don't even know who I am."  Spirit: "It's the deeds make the man."  Rango: "Yeah, but my deeds just made things worse.  I'm a fraud.  I'm a phony!  My friends believed in me, but they need some kind of hero."  Spirit: "Then be a hero."  Rango knows he's no hero.  Spirit: "You came a long way to find something that isn't out here.  Don't you see?  It's not about you.  It's about them."  Rango: "But I can't go back."  Spirit: "Don't know that you got a choice, son.  No man can walk out on his own story."  The spirit drives away.  The old armadillo suddenly appears next to Rango.  Rango is uncertain of whether his vision of the spirit was real: "Did you just see that?"  Armadillo: "We each see what we need to see.  Beautiful, isn't it?"
