ScreenVue is the result of a joint venture and partnership between Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC).

ScreenVue first launched in 2003 as a service of CVLI. The CVLI Church Video License provides legal coverage for churches and for other ministry organizations to show DVDs, Blu-rays, movie downloads and streams of motion pictures. Each organization needs to be specifically covered. Coverage includes playing just a few seconds of a movie all the way up to showing the full-length feature.

Each *Total Producer Church Video License* and *Standard CVLI Video License* (or any *Church Video Licence* globally) comes with free ScreenVue Vault access.

The ScreenVue Vault offers 11,000+ Scene Ideas and Downloads from a variety of movies and resources. 

ScreenVue saves you hours of time finding that perfect movie illustration for next Sunday’s sermon, child or youth service, or video announcement! 

All Scene Ideas (using your own copy or rental; via Blu-ray, DVD, streaming or download) include a scene summary, themes and time cues.

### CCLI

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) was established in 1988 to provide churches with simple, affordable solutions to complex copyright issues. CCLI helps churches maintain their integrity while giving them the freedom to worship expressively and spontaneously.

Churches often face copyright infringement issues in two areas: 1) copying music without permission, and 2) showing movies without authorization.

For copying music to assist with congregational singing, the Church Copyright License provides blanket coverage for 300,000+ songs and 4,500+ publishers and song owners. Currently, global churches are using 600,000+ CCLI licenses.

### CVLI

From a unique partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) and Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC), Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) and the Church Video License was formed in 2001.

The Church Video License provides churches with legal coverage to show all, or any portion of, thousands of movie titles from a number of movie producers, including all the major studios. Currently, the titles from almost 3,000 producers are represented by the Church Video License, including the titles that contain all the Scene Ideas and Scene Downloads that are part of the ScreenVue Vault.

__"Where can I find my Access Key to sign-in with?"__
- Every Church Video Licence globally and every *Total Producer Church Video License* (or *Standard CVLI Video License*) in the USA comes with FREE access to the ScreenVue Vault, which is unlocked with your Access Key. Your Access Key will be included in the monthly CVL update emails you receive. __"Why won't my Access Key work?"__
- The usual reason for the Access Key not to work (and a footer error message to appear) is that something is missing from the sign-in protocol.
- Enter the *Email address* associated with your Church Video License (or CCLI account).
- Enter the *Access Key* found in your last CVL update email (exactly, with no spaces).
- Select the *Terms of Use* and a *Keeping in Touch* option.
- You should be in! If you have done all this and still have a problem, please let us know and we'll dig further.

__"In the USA, why don't I have access as a CVL Family Values Package member?"__
- The *CVL Family Values Package* offers only 65+ studios and producers, and does not include any major/minor Hollywood studios - and does not come with ScreenVue Vault access. 
- The *CVL Total Producer Package* offers 4,000+ studios and producers, including every major Hollywood studio and most of the major/minors, and comes with complimentary access to the new ScreenVue Vault: unlocked with a provided Access Key.

__"What are the restrictions for streaming our service and including a movie scene? "__
- For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie (the entire film or just a scene), the Church Video License terms do not cover streaming a movie scene - even if used in a sermon - over the internet to the general public.
- However, it is permissible to live stream a movie scene inside the facility as long as it is a closed-stream (not accessed publicly). 
- In light of COVID-19, the Church Video License has made temporary modifications to the license: For churches that stream their services and want to include any part of a movie, they can use a platform that is gated or private (password protected entry to only members and guests and not open to the general public), such as Zoom (requiring a password to join).

__"Can content in the ScreenVue Vault be used with a Church Video Licence anywhere in the world?"__

Pursued by two pirate ships and alone in the vast ocean, Captain Phillips comes up with a desperate plan to trick the would-be attackers.  Getting on the radio, he pretends to call for military assistance, knowing the pirates are listening.  Pretending that military aid will be arriving in five minutes, the captain succeeds in scaring one of the boats into retreat.  The other, however, remains in pursuit.  Thinking quickly, Phillips orders his crew to increase speed in order to create a wake big enough to topple the smaller vessel.  The captain watches through his binoculars as the pirate boat sputters and then dies in the water, the engine too strained by the waves to continue.

Four Somali pirates are in a small skiff, chasing the huge cargo ship Alabama.  When the crew of the Alabama ignores their demands to be allowed to board the ship, the pirates begin firing their weapons at the bridge.  Captain Phillips, knowing they possess no weapons onboard, orders the defense hoses to be turned on.  (The high-power hoses placed at intervals around the ship blast water in a barrier, rendering smaller vessels unable to come close enough to board the ship.)  Suddenly, the pirates notice that one of the hoses has slipped, leaving a gap in the water barrier big enough to allow them to move their vessel alongside the Alabama.  Although Captain Phillips sends Shane down to fix the hose, the first mate is unable to do so and is forced to retreat with the rest of the crew.  After several failed attempts to shoot the pirates with a flare gun, Captain Phillips is forced to helplessly watch as the pirates board his ship.  (Caution: a-word subtitled, spoken in foreign language; s-word whispered unintelligibly)

Angry that the ship has apparently broken down, the pirates demand that Captain Phillips bring his crew to the bridge.  Wrenching the radio from Phillips, Muse announces over the loudspeakers his intention to kill every person on the bridge if the rest of the crew refuses to appear.  The crew members, hiding on a lower deck, listen as Muse promises to kill someone in one minute.  After giving his announcement, Muse orders Najee to grab one of the hostages.  Ken is pulled to his feet.  Najee holds a cocked pistol up to his head, screaming threats in the man's face.  Captain Phillips tries to reason with Muse over the shouting of the others.  Phillips: "If you're gonna shoot somebody, shoot me."  Muse: "Where is the crew!"  Pirate, yelling a countdown to Ken's assassination: "Forty seconds!"  Phillips, shouting: "I don't know!"  Muse: "No!  Where is the crew!"  Phillips, desperately: "I'm the captain.  I'm the captain.  If you're gonna shoot anybody, shoot me!"  Ken is in the background, sagging against the wall, the gun still pressed to his head.  Muse tells Phillips he is signing Ken's death warrant, and the countdown moves to twenty seconds.  The atmosphere on the bridge is taut with pressure as Phillips uses his last remaining seconds to reason with Muse.  Phillips. aggressively: "This is how you solve your problems?  You said you just wanted money.  You said this was just business.  Is this business?  Is this how you do business?"  Najee: "Ten seconds!"  Muse stares darkly at Phillips.  Finally, at the last second, he orders his men to stand down.

The lifeboat lurches and Muse groans in pain, his injured hand throbbing from the jolt.  Captain Phillips offers to clean the wound, but Muse refuses.  Looking down at the bleeding feet of Bilal, Phillips begs his captors for the chance to help the boy.  The pirates first refuse, but Phillips is persistent.  Finally, they allow him to get the first aid kit and begin to bandage the boy's feet.  Phillips tries to talk to the boy, questioning why one so young would choose such a dangerous path, but the pirates silence him.  Phillips takes the boy's bloody foot in his hand, rubbing it with ointment and wrapping it in a bandage.  But, when he takes out a small knife to cut the length of bandage, the pirates stop the procedure, confiscating the knife.  Balil limps painfully away as Najee settles down to watch Phillips more closely.

Muse, nursing his injured hand, tells Phillips of his plans to go to America once he's rich.  Najee looks out the window of the lifeboat and sees another U. S. warship has arrived: "This situation has gotten bad."  Phillips stands to get a better look at the sight that is striking fear into the hearts of the pirates.  Phillips realizes the warships don't intend to allow the kidnappers to reach Somalia.  He warns Muse that his plans won't succeed.  Phillips: "It's all over, Captain."  Phillips reminds Muse that, having been abandoned by his boss, he faces the Navy alone.  Phillips: "You had a plan, Captain.  You had a plan to take my ship.  They got half the U. S. Navy out there.  You gotta give up.  You gotta stop."  Muse, yelling desperately: "I can't stop, Irish!"  Phillips: "The Navy is not gonna let you win.  They can't let you win.  They would rather sink this boat than let you get me back to Somalia.  It's over!"  Muse, his eyes downcast and his voice quiet: "I come too far, Irish.  I can't give up.  No."

The three remaining pirates aboard the lifeboat have begun to realize that their cause is a hopeless one.  Najee, burning with anger, has decided that their hostage must die.  Having bound the captain's hands, he raises him to a standing position, ordering Bilal to get a blindfold.  Phillips, knowing the military is monitoring the lifeboat, cries out to anyone who might be listening: "Can you see this?  Can you see it?"  Onboard the warship, soldiers are working furiously to rescue Phillips.  Captain Castellano can both see and hear Phillips's cries.  Back on the lifeboat, Bilal is blindfolding Phillips in preparation for his execution.  Phillips begs him to surrender, but is unsuccessful.  Desperate, he again cries out to an unseen rescuer: "Is anybody hearing this?"  Hopeless, Phillips begins to say goodbye to his loved ones, hoping whoever can hear will deliver the message.  Phillips, weeping: "Can anybody hear this?  I can't stand this anymore!"  Back on the warship, the servicemen are trying to target all three pirates at the same time.  Snipers have guns trained on the lifeboat windows, waiting for the command to fire.  Phillips has reached his limit: "I can't take anymore!  I'm all done.  I'm all done."  Najee points his weapon at Phillips, preparing to fire.  The SEAL commander looks at Phillips onscreen, helpless and despairing, and makes a last, desperate move.  Halting the lifeboat's tow, he jerks the boat enough to bring all three pirates into view.  Given the order, the snipers fire.  Phillips, still blindfolded, hears the shots as all three pirates fall dead around him.  Within a minute, a soldier has entered the lifeboat, promising to get Phillips home. Captain Phillips, after a terrifying ordeal, is suffering from minimal physical wounds, but immense mental and spiritual scars.  Somewhat in shock, he allows himself to be examined by the navy medic, who calmly and competently directs the examination.  While observing the captain's physical wounds, the medic keeps up a steady flow of questions and comments designed to calm Phillips and ascertain his mental state.  Phillips looks shell-shocked.  When he begins to cry, O'Brien takes his face in both her hands: "I need you to calm down.  I need you to breathe."  Phillips nods, obeying.  O'Brien: "There you go.  Very good."  She continues her examination, telling him everything she is doing as she does it.  When she asks specific questions about his experience, Phillips begins to sob.  O'Brien again takes his face in her hands to calm him down.  O'Brien lays him down gently on the table, murmuring words of comfort: "You're okay.  I got you."  Seeing his distress, O'Brien seeks again to reassure the captain: "Captain, you're okay now."  Captain, tearfully: "Thank you.  Thank you."  As Phillips continues to sob, O'Brien comforts: "You are safe and you are fine.  It's gonna be okay."
